I’m about to start FET, but I’ve been ill for months picking up bug after bug. I just can’t get 100% but at the same time I’m not seriously ill (no temp).
Any tips on how to boost my health to feel more ready for this? I really don’t want to postpone any further (I’m 41). I’m due to start meds on Wednesday.
Any questions I should ask the GP - have made an appointment today for a chat and another checkup.

Hey, I just wanted to say whilst I haven't got any great solution I think this is super common at the moment. I have been 'under the weather' for about 3 1/2 weeks now. It started with a cold, then a cough, then a sore throat, then a few days feeling fine, then feeling awful again, now I am walking through quick sand and have a minor temp at night but not ill enough to go to bed. Oh and its definitely not covid! I think our immune systems have just taken a battering after so long being sheltered away.
I am sure you are doing to anyway but dose yourself up on good quality vitamins and eat loads of fruit and veg. Thats what my doc said anyway. He totally dismissed things like echinacea and sambucol but I have still tried them (not sure if they have an impact on FET).
The main thing is as long as you don't have a temp I think you should be fine for your FET.. but totally get that you want to be in optimum shape.
Sorry that sounds like such a pointless patronising answer! I guess I just wanted to say you are not alone but I am not sure there is anything that will suddenly fix things but heaps of luck for your FET xx
Hi Daisy! Thank you so much - it’s a really helpful answer. I worry that my eagerness to get started might cloud my judgement to it’s really helpful to hear from you🙏🙏 I’m having blood tests from my GP for a full review and chest X-ray (it’s been 6 weeks now). My chest sounds clear, no fever, the thinks I might have flu but doesn’t want to assume after me being ill and coughing for so long 😫 Agree with what you’re saying about our immune systems and it’s good to hear it’s not just me! xxx
Ahhh it’s so hard. Well done you for going ahead with the cycle, how are you feeling on the meds for FET now? How are you finding it? This is my first FET but have had IVF in the past xx
As previous post say very common at the minute Just eat well & drink plenty of fluids - keep taking folic acid vit D and any other supplements you are takingGood luck with your FET
