Took my bemfola IVF injection on day 1 instead of 2! Anyone else done this?! Panicking!

Hi all,

I accidentally took my bemfola dose on day 1 instead of 2 and now freaking out that I've totally ruined it all (1st scan not until Monday!) Has anyone else done this?!

Hi Matilda, couldn’t give you any advice on this I’m afraid but I would call your nurses / doctor for advice. Mine have a 24 hour line so I’m sure you’re will too xxx

Thanks, I did call the emergency number and they said it should hopefully be OK but they'll know for sure on Monday when they do my first scan. I just wondered if anyone else had done it so I could hear if it affected them or not.

Hi I would call the clinic and speak to them about it. Normally they have a out of hours number you can call xx

Thanks, they said that taking the Bemfola injection a day early won't have made a difference but unfortunately I'm not reacting very well to it (not growing many good follicles), so they've upped my dose 🤞

Hi,Do you mean you started your stimulation meds on day 1 of your period instead of day 2? If so, I've started stims on day 1 before and it was fine. Don't panic, it's the trigger shot you don't want to mess up.

Hi, yeh I started the stimulation meds (bemfola) on day 1 of my period when it should have started on day 2. Thanks for much for replying, I've just been feeling like I've ruined it all already but let's hope not.

Which stimulation meds did you take on day 1? As I think there's a few different ones

Gonal-F on that round, not sure if it makes a massive difference, although some people have different outcomes. What they'll do is see how the follicles are growing at your next scan and adjust the meds if they need to. This happens to everyone anyway. If they're growing too fast they'll reduce the dose or too slow, they'll increase. This is all normal.

They might do the collection earlier - all depends how you respond to the meds.
