Hi all, I’m in the midst of a FET (possibly our last ever fertility treatment) and I want my progesterone levels checked. However my clinic doesn’t really support that. I’m going to do it anyway and if it’s too low, I might add extra cyclogest to my protocol. I’m currently on 400mg cyclogest pessaries twice a day and Prolutex (subcutaneous progesterone injections every other day).
What I’d like to know is; what day(s) of a medicated FET cycle should I get the blood test and what should adequate levels be?
Thanks in advance x

Ooh, good luck. I've had a few frozen transfers and Dr always makes me have it checked the day after transfer and then again at the same time as HCG on day 10.
My levels are around 17 to 18 ng/ml and he's been happy with that. The info on the test results says normal levels for first trimester are 11 - 90 ng/ml
Thanks MissSaoPaulo - my clinic has agreed to do the blood test but won’t change my protocol regardless of the results so may just have to add extra cyclogest or prolutex/Lubion - hoping it won’t come to that x
On my very first transfer levels were a bit low. I went from 5 to 8 utrogestan (200mg) so that was quite a hefty dose. Subsequent transfers I've been on one Crinone (8%) at night and 3 utrogestan during the day. I'm not sure how much you're using, but I don't think it's the kind of thing you can overdose on. I've seen loads of different protocols for progesterone on here, I don't think there is an industry consensus or standard. Hopefully your levels will be fine and it won't be an issue. Best of luck xxx
Hi lovely, I’ve always had my progesterone tested on transfer day and on OTD. That way it can be increased before implantation if needs be, and then just to double check if you get a positive that it’s still at a good level. Best of luck xx
I would have this tested on transfer day but you would need your results back pretty snappy so you can up meds if necessary. You are looking to be over 60nmol/l (that's the usual units of measurement in the UK) the ng/ml is usually European or US. Hopefully with what you are taking you should be ok!!🤞🏻 Best of luck. Here is a wee conversion tool if you need it.xx
Thanks so much Cinderella, that’s v helpful. My clinic said they’re happy to do the blood test but won’t tweak my protocol regardless of the results. It’s so frustrating as I’m nervous to add more progesterone if I need it because I’ve no idea how much is too much 🤷🏾♀️ Hoping the levels come back okay, that way I don’t have to worry 🤞🏽
Same as the others have said, my clinic test progesterone on transfer day and then again on OTD with hcg. I normally get the results the same day so if I’ve needed additional progesterone, it can be added quickly xx
