hi just looking for some advice. When should progesterone be checked during FET? I’ve only used cyclogest in the past two fresh transfers, but this time prescribed lubion and cyclogest.
Also is it usual to take more progesterone on a FET than fresh?
Thanks x

Mine was checked on the day of the FET (as in I had the blood test on the day of the transfer and got the results the following day) - which I think is pretty standard.
It was then checked again on OTD, following a BFP, and a couple of times after this, just to check levels were ok. I know not all clinics do this. But im glad they did this, as my progesterone levels were on the low side on OTD, and so i was asked to take a Lubion injection in addition to all the other progesterone i was taking which seemed to fix things.
aww thank you for your advice, that’s really helpful. The package I’ve paid for says they take bloods, but not sure if they do after transfer, but I can ask them to. X
Hi Jokiekin. Usually checked the day of transfer, that's if your clinic test - not all of them do. Often Lubion is added into the mix, especially if you have had failed cycles. Hope all goes well. Diane
I had it checked this the day after transfer but only cos I pushed and said I was really worried! My levels were fine. The first two times it was not checked.
But because I had failed transfer and chemical I asked if I could have more progesterone from the off as it was my final try and that was agreed to- lubion was added into the mix
Hi - I have my first FET on Tuesday and they are checking my progesterone Monday morning, they want the results back before they do the transfer. I am taking 3x cyclogest, 1 lubion and 3x estrogen tablets.
Noticed a tiny bit of blood today, so now freaking out. My 2nd FET attempt was cancelled as I started bleeding the day after taking cyclogest. Trying to tell myself they know what they are doing by making me have it again.
thanks for replying. That’s exactly what I’ll be taking too, previously only taken cyclogest.
I will ask for it to be done the day before, I want to make sure the level is ok. This is the only FET I’ll be doing (last embryo).
I’ve heard of this bleeding happening on one cycle and people using the same drugs/doses again and then it’s been fine, the human body is just strange at times.
Hi i had some issues with progesterone which i kept telling my clinic to check as i kept miscarrying. They did bloods on day of FET and results came out low so i was put on lubion injections aswell as cyclogest. Cyclogest is the common progesterone they use and yes i find dosage higher on FET cycle.
So my progesterone for FET started 6 days before just on cyclogest and then on the day of transfer i added 1 injection per day. This jept my levels ok. I think blood tests are best way to determine how low progesterone is and how much is needed but if in doubt make sure u get checked as i had to insist on mine which was one of the reasons why i miscarried.
Hi thank you so much. Yes I’m going to ask them to check my levels the day before transfer. I’ve only got one frozen embryo so I want to make sure everything is ok.
I’ve only had cyclogest in the past but the two previous transfers were fresh. Now I’ll be on cyclogest and lubion.
Hi! For my first FET, I pushed to have it checked and they did so on the day of the transfer, it turned out to be on the low side. This time, we agreed with the doctor that they will test me two days before transfer so that we actually have some time to do something if it is low again. They have doubled my dose this time too. Definitely worth asking for it to be tested, me thinks. Good luck!
hi thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes that sounds like a good idea, I was thinking of asking them to check it the day before but maybe two days before would be best. What progesterone was you taking when it was low? X
