Ovaleap - how’s everyone found it?

Hi,

Im just starting my ivf round number 2 from scratch and this time they are putting me on 450 ovaleap instead of menopur.

I just wondered how people found it in terms of side effects etc?

I feel really nervous and just generally anxious about the whole stims process 😞

Hello dear! Just finished my 2nd round with Ovaleap, had only 200iu per day and after 6 days lowered to 150 but still got overstimulated and had 20+ follicles from which resulted 15 eggs (I have PCOS). My body reacted different to Ovaleap. My first round I was on Rekovelle and had 8 follicles with 6 eggs collected that were slow growing( 10th day of stims 15mm), had to do stims 12 days and they didn't made it to day 5. With Ovaleap on day six they were already 15-16mm. Now waiting to see if from those 15 some make it to blastocysts and get frozen. Like side effects I was nauseous and couldn't feel like eating, fatigue and wanting to sleep, a lot of discharge and cramps.

Thanks for coming back to me! Yes fatigue and cramps are common for me - sadly I never lose my appetite haha x

Hi! Just wanted to wish you the very best of luck for round 2.

I had ovaleap last year, I started off with a small dosage, alternated between 75 and 150. They ended up increasing this in the last few days, but I don't remember what the higher dosage was! I don't recall having much in the way of symptoms, other than tiredness.

Ah thank you! I have low amh which is why I’m on amsuch a high dose! I think I’ve just gotten into my own head about side effects xx

I was on 375 dose and didn't have any size effects at all. In a past I was on Gonal-f 150 and No side effects either.

Hopefully you will be the same. I have read your AMH is low hence the reason for such a high dosage. Same for me. We managed to harvest 4 eggs last time, 3 fertilised, and 2 went to day 5., great quality. One has been transferred 5 days later and one has been frozen. But I didn't manage to get pregnant with any, unfortunately.

Did they give any reason as to why they swapped you to Ovaleap?

Not really, just that it’s a newer drug with supposedly better results? I have low amh so they have upped the dosage.

Have you been on it before?

I haven’t. I’ve always been on Menopur but the consultant nurse suggested Ovaleap for my next cycle but the doctor didn’t allow it. Think he’s a bit old school which is probably why. Will try and do a bit more reading around it.

My first round of IVF, I was on highest dose of Menopur, this time around I’m on 300 Ovaleap and 150 Menopur! I have been on it for 10 days now and waiting to hear today whether I go for egg collection on Wednesday or not! I only started feeling a bit more sore yesterday, boobs, a bit bloating but other than that no side effects! I have low AMH as well, only got 3 eggs on last collection, 2 fertilised and one was transferred, the other one didn’t survive and no pregnancy either! So hoping for more eggs this time around 🤞🤞🙏🙏 Good luck with your cycle!! ❤️

I was on 225 menopur last time and got 10 eggs, but this is our last nhs round so the doctor is wanting me to maximise the chances I think. Good to know you’ve not had too many uncomfortable symptoms. I work for myself so I was worrying I was going to feel horrendous and not be able to work much! X
