Advice on Emma/Alice or No cells in the West Midlands

Hi All,

I have had three rounds of IVF/ICSI and three implantation failures. No Frosties. I’m looking into the EMMA/ALICE or NK cells test. I’m based in the West Midlands, anyone else had these tests? Is it worth my while? My embryos have not been the greatest, last round they transferred my one and only day 5 blast and early blast. I had a positive result day 5/6&7 then day 9 spotting and day 10 bleed with a negative result. What to do?

Did you use a trigger shot? That can sometimes show a positive result when it’s negative although since you had spotting it does sound like a possible chem. if the problem is the embryos aren’t great then why do you think your womb might be the problem? I had 3 blasts frozen at when I was 39 and in dictation they were good. My best I transferred and it didn’t take and the doctor didn’t know why as I’d taken all the meds to do the work. So I cut out caffeine (obviously alcohol) ate as well as I could - tried losing a bit of weight although there isn’t much time before the next transfer and I had lots of acupuncture. I’m 5w6days and so far so good. Even have morning sickness which I didn’t with my first natural pregnancy that ended in miscarriage.

So I’m just wondering if you have a bit more healthy eating and acupuncture maybe it could work for another round? Not saying don’t do the tests but my doctor said they’re not that reliable - and there was no sign there was anything wrong with me

Thank you for your response. Every round has been trial and error, last round was the first time I got a good grade blast, unfortunately with nothing to freeze. You are right my diet could improve I have no coffee, my BMI is around 23 so not necessarily lose weight.

I’ve previously had acupuncture and wet cupping, endometrial scratch and the embryo glue. I have started taking more vits that may help this round too.

The test may not be reliable but my thoughts are that I can still create a harmonious environment from within.

Ah thank you! Just have to hope it’s okay this time. It’s never easy! Also I was told (and something the doctors will never) if you have a problem creating the lining, full cream milk (drinking a pint of that a day will help it grow) and I’ve also heard pomegranate juice can help. I’ve moved to decaf coffee so all is not lost! The other thing I changed were the pre natal tablets. I went to natural food store and got some vegan ones with less in but included maca and folate (naturally occurring and not folic acid chemical which most of them are) that can make a big difference. It sounds like you’ve tried a lot of things. And I have no idea if the acupuncture worked- it’s just one of the things I tried this time. I also took a natural modified FET so cutting out the estradiol and I felt better for that too - and my body knew what to do. You definitely don’t need to lose weight- but unsalted mixed nuts are great as a snack and lots of greens. And exercise can also help. I don’t think you’d lose anything from doing an ERA it just might tell you what you need to know. Or that nothing is wrong which even if you think it doesn’t help- it means all the natural things you can do can help it.
