I’m in Scotland and I dont think we do it up here 🤔 as my consultant is outta suggestions on what else to try and I want to have one more go at egg collection I’m thinking of doing this test. What does it actually involve and how long for results?
where would I be best getting this done and what’s the process and rough costs? (Think if it’s clinic name you need to PM sorry to be a pain😊) thank you! 💜 xx

I am not sure how open are you in having them done abroad?!? My suggestion is to have them done outside UK as it is much cheaper. When I wanted to have ERA done in UK because I couldn't travel abroad (COVID travel restrictions back then) I remember contacting 5-6 clinics if not more and the cost associated was £1200-1500 + medications just for ERA test but I had a problem they were not accepting me because I wasn't their permanent patient, so be careful with that. I had no other option just to travel to Spain despite all restrictions, to have it done. I paid €550 + medications. My sister had it done in September '22 in Spain at the same clinic as me, all 3 tests + NK cells test for €1100 + medications + one scan that you will have to do in UK (£100-150). You will only need to travel once in whole process. I remember for my ERA test I flew to Spain and returned in the same day, so no hotels booking and etc...Results are back in 2 weeks.
thanks so much I’m open to going to Spain for it (as much cost and hassle as me getting to London tbh from up here!) if too would recommend your clinic would you mind popping me a wee pm with its name please? Would rather use somewhere that someone has had good experience with, especially abroad xx
I highly recommend them. They are absolutely great. You can call directly to some UK clinics but I am telling you, they all refused me. You might have more luck than me but I was pretty upset that time.
Flights to Alicante are from many airports in UK so you don't need to travel to London. You can take them from north.
hello I also got mine done in Spain. Era, Alice and Emma test was £1100 plus meds. I was on medication for a few weeks exactly the same as if you were going to do a transfer then on the day of transfer they take a biopsy instead. The results come in in 2-3 weeks. We went to Spain for the whole thing. But you can travel just for the biopsy.
It wasn’t painful just a wee bit uncomfortable like a smear xxx
Another thing to consider if you need to repeat the Emma/Alice. I go to Greece for my embryo transfer but any tests/scans have been in London. I have had the Era/Emma/Alice in London but in regards to the results for the Emma/Alice I needed a course of antibiotics plus another biopsy to be taken. The first lot of antibiotics did not work and I am on my second lot of antibiotics and another biopsy is needed. So if you are considering going abroad you need to consider what if you need another biopsy etc, all added costs with flight and accommodation and could be easier to stick to the UK, glad I did.
thank you! If it’s London it costs me about the same to get there (and accommodation cheaper) as it does Spain tbh but maybe there is somewhere more north that does it as that’s a great point about repeat tests. I don’t think anywhere in Scotland does it for some reason!😢 xx
That’s annoying Scotland doesn’t seem to offer it. When enquiring, ask if there a charge for repeated biopsies. Luckily I haven’t been charged for this. On my way now to have the biopsy, I have got my fingers crossed it has worked this time!!x
Hi Lovely, I'm up in Northumberland and ended up getting a 3-in1 test for implantation at a London clinic. I completely sympathise with the lack of specialist clinics up here! 😆 I had to physically go down once, for the biopsy. Might be a bit different though as I used a specialist London branch of the chain to which my usual clinic (Darlington) belonged. It wasn't the cheapest, around 1800 I think, but I liked the idea of doing one biopsy for ERA, uterine nk cells, and a microbiome test. Results took a while, think 4-5 weeks xx
aww thank you! It’s such a hassle isn’t it lol maybe I should open up a new business up this way hire a few doctors to do it 🙊 I’m not sure if the London clinics would take me anyway if I’m not getting treatment with them but I will ask around see why they say xx
Hi I had mine done in north west England at my clinic but there are a few that offer it here and one in Liverpool was considerably cheaper than where I got mine done not. This maybe too far for you to travel but if you are interested I can send you the info via private message I also had to have a repeat biopsy which was included in the cost. In terms of medication it’s the same as a FET so if you have any medication left over from previous treatment you can use this to save on costs providing it’s still in date xxx
yes please if you wouldn’t mind sending me the name of your clinic the more north the better! And Liverpool also much easier to get to than London 🤗 thanks so much! Xx
no probs I’ve just sent you all the information from both clinics hope they come through ok but any issues just let me know the contact numbers should be on the bottom of the info too. Best of luck with everything xxx
I’m in Scotland and went to London for those tests. Up and back in a day so was actually fine. Clinic was in central London so easy to get to from Heathrow Express. I can pm you clinic name if you wanted? Xx
I will send you the clinic details in London. I actually decided to look into Spain though and get tests and treatment done there as it was as easy and cheaper for me to travel there as London ….but found out as we were planning it that they can’t accept my donor there so I ended up not proceeding with any of it so back to Glasgow it is for me!
