Hi Ladies,

How long do you have to wait to start IVF after laparoscopy?

Hi there. I had my surgery 8th of march and i had my first transfer mid May. However I think it depends on how fast you heal and when your cycles return to normal again. My doctor said minimum 1 month after provided everything looked good. Wishing you good luck. 🍀

Thank you for your reply Hun. That's great. I was worried that it might take from 6 -25 months. Xx

Hi Madeline_1986,

In my case doctors told me to try to get pregnant naturally for another 6 months after laparoscopy (I had endo removed) and if I won't, go for IVF. I didn't so went for IVF and got lucky enough to get pregnant at 1st attempt! My son is nearly 5 now and 6 IVF attempts later we can't still give him a sibling. He was a jackpot!

Hi Hun. Thank you for your reply. That's great from the first attempt. May I please ask what is your AMH level and AFC?

AMH checked few months ago prior fresh round of IVF and extremely low for my age (38) - 0.9pmol/L = 0.126ng/mL. But still managed to harvest 4 eggs (3 fertilised, 2 top grade at day 5, 1 unsutable for freezing). AFC low but can't remember the exact number. AMH 5 years ago was also way below numbers for my age group, but we got lucky.

AMH of 0.9 pml is at this moment at the age of 38 Hun ?

Mine is 3.9 pml I at the age of 35.

I wonder how my AMH will react to IVF. I hope it's all fixable.

Please pm me about the clinic where you are doing IVF? I am looking for clinics.

Xx

I had lap back in early Oct 2015 and had lots of endo removed (stage 4). The consultant told me to go for IVF soon after in case the endo returned sooner. I had a transfer in early Dec of the same year and was successful first time. My son is now 5!

my laparoscopic myomectomy was done on 30 July and after some rest the long protocol IVF started in end of august and egg extraction on 21st September. I had to freeze the eggs as the transfer couldn't be done for minimum 3 months healing time of uterus.. the egg pick up can be done if ovaries are untouched in your surgery

Thank you for information. I didn't know it would take 3 months to heal xx

It also depends on the scar tissues on your uterus if the uterine lining has been touched.. the safety of waiting is only so that the uterus is strong enough to take the load of pregnancy for 9 months
