Period after Norethisterone ?

Hi , all. I was just wondering how soon did you get your period back after Norethisterone tablets ? I was on them for 12 days 3x a day . Well I stopped on 24/09 and it’s been 4 days and it does not feel like period is coming at all .. I’m supposed to start my injections in 2 days . And I have to have my period to start .. any advice would be appreciated xx

I also stopped my norothisterone on the 24th and started bleeding a few hours ago. Usually for me it does start somewhere on the 4th day after stopping the pills, but on one cycle it was the 5th day, took a bit longer. Don't panic if it doesn't show quite as soon as expected, the clinic will be used to this as it isn't an exact science 👍x

Hi , thank you so much for the reply x did you get any period symptoms ? x and thank you for the reassurance, I’ll see how it is for the next two days and get in touch with clinic if it takes longer x

Well I've had the mother of all headaches since Sunday... that's usually the only symptom I have, to be honest, which comes about with the change of hormone levels. But this time it's been dreadful and paracetamol doesn't touch it 😔 But I don't dare take anything stronger 🙄😭 . If you've still got 2 days to go I reckon there's a good chance AF will turn up on time x

Hi Amiikikii,

When I had norethesrirone I also thought there were no signs of my period coming, then it came very unexpectedly. It wasn't like my usual period at all, mine usually starts lighter, but after the northestirone it was just a full period straightaway. So don't worry, it's probably just a little bit late

Oh my god , you were right , I just started my period , had no signs of it coming and it’s full on 😁😁

Ah! Glad to hear it's not just me 😂 I think it's because it's not 'technically' a period but a withdrawal bleed. Exciting times ahead then! Best of luck for your cycle!

Hi, can I ask what day of your cycle you started taking the tablets? I’m just interested to know as will be starting soon but not sure if it matters when in your cycle you start? Thanks

Also, it does matter when you start x you have to let them know of the first day of your period , then they calculate all the days and then a couple of days later they let you know if all the medicines you’ll need and when to start them x

Hi, I stopped using Norehisterone on Sunday (after using it for 10 days 3 times per day) and as of this evening spotting started so I presume tomorrow Day 1 will be tomorrow and I, too, will start FET injections (medicated cycle) on Day 2. Good luck with it all. x
