Following the MVA under local which was so hard, I thought things where calming down. Bleeding calmed down, but stomach swelling more. However was was getting worse called and advised to go into hospital.
Bad bleeding and cramping had to have scans, swabs, bloods and urine sample. Got an infection in my womb which was a risk of surgery now of antibiotics. I’m on day 5 of a 7 day course snd still bleeding and swollen.
Has anyone else experienced this after MVA? still bleeding snd swollen for now two weeks after the surgery, I know it can take around 4 weeks maybe to settle but it’s a lot of fresh blood.
Thank you so much for any help x

Hi Blue. So sorry you have had to go through all this, and hope you've got plenty of support just now. You must make sure you are drinking plenty of water 3L a day, while still bloated. Your GP should keep an eye on your blood loss, perhaps with a blood test to check against an anaemia developing. Some medication may be needed to slow/stop the bleeding. Hope you soon get to be more comfortable. Thinking of you. Diane
I had a MVA for my first miscarriage and it was painful, cutting a long story short i was hospitalised. Anyway couple weeks after the MVA and everything appearing clear on the scan, i had a huge bleed with 5/6 plum size blood clots. My uteris was contracting painfully. The docs didnt know what caused it. They gave me transemic acid tablets to see if it would help with the bleeding. Eventually it stopped. I still dont know the cause. Please take care of yourself, its a horrible thing to go through. Best wishes
In that particular pregnancy i think it was Dec until i was fully clear from bleeding. So about 3 months all in. However the other pregnancies were quicker and they were natural miscarriages without medical management.
