Cyclogest progesterone treatment

Good evening everyone

Just a little query for those of you taking cyclogest(progesterone) I’m taking as pessaries and they are just awful! Just wondering if anyone is experiencing side effects from them. I have slight cramps, making me worry like crazy.

Hi, I’m having severe stomach cramps since taking cycologest. Every time I eat I’m crippled in pain! Are you getting something similar? X

HeyNot noticed when eating really but just had cramping since starting the cyclogest 3 days ago. I take 2x 400mg per day. I’ve read it’s a side effect but doesn’t stop the worrying. I’m on fragmin injections too due to sticky blood syndrome. I have an early scan on Wednesday, I’ll be 6+2. How far on are you? Xx

Hi K4ty. Oh dear, so sorry to hear this. Try and drink extra water and don't get constipated, as that can add to cramping and tummy pain. Hopefully you will settle down, but if it worsened.speak to your GP/clinic. Diane

Thanks lovely. I think I was just constipated as it has eased since managing the loo! I’m sure the nerves don’t help though! X

Hi. I'm sure they don't/ If you are susdeptible to constipation, perhaps something like Fibogel might help, or speak to your GP for advice. Diane

Ive been suffering severe cramps and diahhrea too. Also after eating sometimes. My clinic told me its a side effect if using them rectally so have advised me to start vaginally instead. Which i did today and been much better - no cramps yet although think ive gone the other way and now constipated 🤦🏼‍♀️

HiI’m using them vaginally and been told to swap to rectally to ease the cramps! It has been much better since yesterday so fingers crossed it was just a little episode! They are so messy vaginally so may try rectally to see how I go! Lots of orange juice for you! X

Hi - I notice this was a few months ago but did anyone experience ridiculous bloating too? I’m getting cramps when eating etc too but wow this is bad - I’ve been on them for a week and it started getting bad the last few days. Wishing you all the luck in the world x
