So I just had my first scan for this cycle and it appears I’ve not responded well.
This is our second round with our new specialist.
First round we were in 350 gonal f upped to 450 for the last few days. And syneral to stop ovulation. 13 eggs and only 2 fertilised. Both transferred on day 3 - BFN. He put the poor fertilisation down to poor egg quality even though our cycle at our previous clinic in November last year gave us 100% fertilisation rate.
This cycle he changed to bemfola 450 from the start and Lucrin to stop ovulation.
Scan today showed only 6 follicles and of them only 3 look good at 20mm, 20mm and 16mm
All the others are too small.
He has now agreed he has pushed my ovaries too hard and will do a mini ivf next cycle if this one is a bust.
He wants to go ahead with EC too.
Just wanted to hear if anyone had been in a similar situation and what was the outcome?
Any advise would be appreciated 💕

Hi Beclp. I am just hoping that you have some decent follicle sizes for egg collection and egg collection yields a few good eggs for you. Fingers crossed. Diane
Hey, you can still get good eggs from those follicles! I have low AMH so I'm never going to have lots going on. However, I started on the long protocol and maximum dose meds (300 menopur, 150 bemfola) plus buserelin and had 3 follicles growing. Got 2 eggs, both fertilised. One 2 day transfer which then I later miscarried.
This time around i was on the short protocol, 150 menopur and 300 bemfola with fyremadel to stop ovulation. I had 9 follicles growing but only got 4 at egg collection, 2 were immature and of the two left, one fertilised. That was popped back in on a 2 day transfer.
What I've learnt from all this is that I'm definitely going to go to another clinic for natural cycles, if this round hasn't worked. I know I get one , top quality embryo each time so going to nurture that with less chemicals!
Not sure if any of that was helpful but my two experiences have definitely led me to try a different approach if I need to!
So much can change with each day when you are stimming, so fingers crossed those smaller follicles catch up.
I have found through my rounds that my body had very different responses to different drug types. I was always on a high dose, but when it was only Gonal F my response was very low. We found that a high dose with a mix of drugs worked best for me, using Menopur and Gonal F, we also had better egg quality in these rounds.
Hope that everything goes well with the rest of this cycle xx
