Ohss after bfp?
I did! My HCG was so high that is triggered the OHSS, and I ended up in hospital for a few days due to the pain. Have you contacted your clinic? Drinks lots of fluid (I was told 4L), and a pint of milk and eat little and often (high protein foods). Rest up… it will get better but if you feel it’s getting worse, contact 111 for their advice or go to A&E.
Mine did settle down and whilst my right ovaries are still swollen (I’m 13 weeks), they don’t cause my any discomfort or pain now.
Wishing you a speedy recovery xxx
Yes!! I got my bfp 11dp5dt and that day I started to feel funny and was in hospital 5 days in agony , I was put on IV fluids as I could eat or drink without being sick. I felt like the pregnancy wouldn’t survive . But it did It’s a good sign for your pregnancy to get it apparently as mean the pregnancy hormones are strong. Really doesn’t make you feel any less ill though I’m afraid. Lots of fluids , protein and rest is all I can suggest when at home, but going to get checked out is good idea x hope u feel better soon x
Yep I did too was in hospital for over a week because of the size of my belly and pain! I came home 3 weeks ago but still at the hospital weekly for bloods scans etc. Don’t leave it I left it nearly 2 weeks as I thought it was normal and ended up with serve OHSS xxx
I developed it post transfer and I thought it was settling down but I have still had twinges on and off and I was worried something was wrong.I had my 7 week scan yesterday and she had a look at my ovaries and said they were still massive which was why I was getting sharp pains still and bloated etc.
Congratulations on your BFP and I hope you feel better soon. X
Hi Emr. OHSS can happen unfortunately. Make sure you drink at least 3L water daily for a few days to keep urine output lots and pale in colour. Avoid constipation, as poo passing sore ovaries can be painful. Safe to take paracetamol if needed, unless prescribed something else. No anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Any breathlesslessness or reduction in urine out put needs to be checked by a doctor. Hope all soon settles. Diane
