Medication after BFP

Hi everyone, hope ur all well. I have recently been told after an extremely long journey with failed transfers in the past. We have a bfp. I am currently 6 weeks (no scan as of yet). However my program is very long, and I’m curious to find out did anyone stay on all their medication until 12/13/14 weeks etc? Or gradually come off etc?

Many thanks in advance x

Hi lovely firstly congrats! I don’t know if there is a difference between meds after a fresh vs a frozen but for me after my frozen cycle i stayed on meds till wk 12 but started to reduce them around wk 10 as requested by the hospital. I know different hospitals and clinics can have different options around when to stop meds but I believe the placenta takes over around wk 8 which is why Some places don’t keep the meds going on till wk 12. I’ll be honest it did feel like a safety blanket staying in them till we 12 so didn’t mind xxx

Thank u so much. I feel the exact same. I am on a load each day so feel reluctant to stop.

Did you stay on anything the whole way through? Or gradually stop tablets / injections each week? Xx

For me I was on cyclogest pessaries twice a day and estradiol tablets 3 times a day. I didn’t need to inject post BFP.Both the pessaries and the tablets I was asked to start reducing either from Wk 9 or Wk 10. Currently 31 weeks. If they do want you to come completely off them then you could ask if you could even stay on the pessaries till wk 12 and see what they say xx

For me after my second scan at 10 1/2 weeks and also a test of my progesterone level after a full day without medication required by my doctor. I was taken off cold turkey of all my medications. I am now 26+ weeks pregnant with twins. Some ladies on this forum goes to 12 weeks. I honestly was happy when I was ask to stop all my medications because i was getting really tired/ exhausted of the injections and the insertions. Good luck

Congratulations! We stayed on for 12 weeks as this is standard at my clinic (for frozen cycle not fresh though) but they tell you to stop all at week 12. I was a bit nervous so weened off for a week or so. they told me you don’t really need it after week 9 as the placenta has taken over but as an extra precaution they continue longer (nhs Scotland clinic) xx

Yeah I’m very anxious stopping at 12 weeks, I’m currently nearly 7 weeks and have my first scan next week so praying all is ok. Then find out what I start reducing. They have told me 12 weeks for my prognovya, cyclogest, clexaine injections and aspirin and then stop all together. And told me to stop lubion now if I like as not needed?! But I’m on 2 a day. Just feels very unclear and bit worries xx
