Yesterday I was officially five weeks pregnant. I've been taking it easy. My bfp was the result of a fet. But today I started to bleed red period like blood when I was out and about. There wasn't loads but enough to go through my jeans. So 5-6 teaspoons.
Doc says to rest and to increase my pessaries to four a day then call him on Monday.
Has anyone experienced this and had a positive outcome? I'm in bed now, the bleeding hasn't increased but I'm afraid because my tummy does feel like it would on the first day of a period.
Thank you x

I hope your OK hun and the bleeding stops. When are you due for a scan? Wish you all the best hun just try to relax and rest up. 💗🤗😘
Thank you. My scan is on the 2nd October. Your words give me hope xxx
Hi I know bleeding is so scary I bleed from week 6 for 3 weeks some bright red and loads and some brown, I am now almost 20weeks. Listen to your doctors get plenty of rest and keep hydrated xx
Thank you button. I'm trying to not overthink and just sleep. The bleeding has gone for now. I just had a nap and took some paracetamol so am taking it easy. Fingers crossed it wasn't anything bad and doesn't come back x x
Hi I am so sorry about this and know how stressful it can be. I had bleeding at 5 weeks and also from weeks 7 through to 12. Am now 15 weeks pregnant and all ok. I am really hopeful that it is implantation bleeding as this is very common. It should turn dark red and not be enough to go through a sanitary towel. Rest up and go and see your doctor Monday or go to an early pregnancy unit at your local hospital, they will be able to do a scan to check all is well. Good luck xxxxx
Thanks for your words and advice. Makes me feel better for sure! I'm just trying to find an early pregnancy unit in my area as I think that would be a good idea x
I bled from 6 weeks til about 10. I had two major bleeds soaking through pads and clothes with lots of clots and was convinced it's over but all was fine and no idea what had caused it. Now I'm 19 weeks. Just rest up and take it easy. Good luck xx
Hey, relax and take some bed rest for now. Slight bleeding is normal in the first semester so don't worry much about it. As long it don't start pouring like AF it pose no thereat to the baby. I had a sudden bleeding (about half a normal tampon) at around my 9 week but everything was fine thereafter. I was equally panicked though, but my Dr said stressing would only make it worse, so had to refrain. You too need to stop stressing about it right now. Take more naps if that helps and be positive!
Thanks Stephy! I'm doing what I'm told and taking it easy. Blood seems to have eased off so I'm feeling a lot more positive than I did earlier. Thanks a lot for letting me know that it happened to you, makes me feel better to know that it could be nothing x
I also had a bleed at 12 weeks - red blood. Scans showed all was fine and like other ladies here I was told the heaps of women bleed in early pregnancy. So hard as it is (I know!) do try not to worry. Xx
I'm five weeks, six weeks tomorrow. Last Tuesday was my period day and when I went to the toilet I was bleeding and had blood clots, I was so shock and didn't know what to do, I was in work to top it off. I had to tell my manager I was pregnant which I didn't plan on doing till I was 3 months but I couldn't just run out without a reason. I called my Clinci crying and was told to rest and come in the next day when I asked the horrible nurse did you think I'm having a miscarriage as I had blood clots she told me what do you think!!!! Horrible woman to say that to someone. I then called 111 and asked for more advice and was told to go A&E which I did they can't do anything but take a blood test to see HCG results which were high, I also had a scan and everything seemed good but they couldn't tell me anymore as it is still very early. I have stopped bleeding and everything seems okay but it's always on the back of my mind. Fingers crossed for you xxxx
Oh thanks for you reply Magc. Mine has stopped now too. I'm feeling more hopeful and you should too. Surely we will be ok as it hasn't been a full AF type of bleed? Fingers crossed for us both xxx
Just thought I would let you all know that I had HCG levels checked and had an early scan and doc was very happy to see the sac. I am gong back next week to hear the heartbeat and see the little bean within the sac. I am so relieved. But wanted to post this because obviously bright red blood so early does not always mean doom. and gloom.
