Spotting at 5 weeks very worried!!!

Spotting 5 weeks I am very worried any positive stories ??

So after 3 attempts of long emotional journey of ivf I got BFP after FET ,however this morning I had slight spotting like a dark pink.

I am.very worried now I have spoken to my gynecologist and she said to bring the scan forward to next only by 2 days because she said if she sees me earlier she won't get all the answer.

I am at the moment taking cyclogest 3times per day taking progynova and 75mg aspirin plus pregnant care tablets.

I even took another pregnancy test this morning it was positive but has anyone had spotting and bleeding and had successfully completed this journey .

I cant believe how strong us women are the journey has just drained me and my husband we where so happy yesterday but today I am so worried and sad.

If anyone can share their stories with me I feel this is my only place i that can speak how I feel and I will get some support .

Hi Bigbb,I am 22 weeks pregnant with twins.

I had some bleeding at 8 weeks just after my viability scan, was bright red for a short time. I ended up in EPU, the gynaecologist examined me, she said she could see some bleeding which had stopped but it was a good sign that my cervix was closed. She booked me in for a NHS scan at the end of the week, but I could not wait, so went for a private scan and there the babies were fine as can be.

The sonograher told me that a lot of women usually experience bleeding during pregnancy as a result of hormonal changes that usually resolves itself.

Great you have contacted your gynaecologist about it.

I know it is hard try not to worry. Wish you all the best.

Xx

Hi Bigbb. Might be some irritation from pessaries being aggravated by the aspirin?? Hopefully it will settle back down, and your scan will be OK. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you so much 💓You are absolutely right it can be due to the pessaries thank you for the information .

I am just praying for next Tuesday for everything to be ok x

Hi Bigbb, congratulations on your bfp. I had spotting at 5 weeks it lasted for a week and ranged from pink to brown. Then at 7 weeks I had one instance of red followed by brown for two days. My clinic put the first instance down to implantation bleeding and the second down to irritation due to pessaries. I had a good viability scan at 8 weeks and I have my dating scan tomorrow. The wait for the viability scan is awful I wish you all the best and 🤞everything is fine. X

Hello Thank you for sharing your experience with me congratulations with everything so far and wishing all the best for the future scans.

I mean my spotting is dark red like when your period finishes and this oy appears when I wipe myself .

My gynecologist will see 2 days earlier I am so nervous for Tuesday for my viability scan by then I will be 6 going to 7 weeks I think because with ivf they calculate this differently specially if it is cytoblast.

Fingers cross 🤞

Do you still have any spotting now ???

All.the best with the dating scan tomorrow xx

I havnt had any since 7 weeks hopefully stays that way it becomes so worrying! Thanks I'm just crossing my fingers everything is good tomorrow. If its only when you wipe and no clots try to not stress (easier said than done) hope everything is good on tuesday. Alot of women on here have spotting/small bleeds and go onto having healthy pregnancies. It can sometimes be a bad sign but if it's not getting worse and becoming full bleeding then hopefully will all be fine. X

Huge congratulations on your BFP. I've have had spotting in my pregnancies 2 live births , a loss of my daughter at 20; weeks pregnant and I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant) with my grown up son I bled like a period at 7 weeks told to expect a miscarriage ( no EPU then) my 2 year old daughter ( who took us 7 years to conceive after 3 surgeries for my endometriosis) I had brown spotting between 6-14 weeks but did lose fresh blood at 10 weeks with blood clots. My second daughter Amelia I bled red/brown/pink from 5 weeks and she was fine until 20 weeks when she sadly died ( I miss her terribly ) This pregnancy I have bled brown at 7 weeks and fresh blood with a suspicious looking blood clot we feared was the baby - I've had more episodes of fresh blood when I wipe - i had another scan yesterday at 15 weeks pregnant as I just had my second Covid vaccination and was worried I might have " killed" my baby ( ridiculous I know) the vaccination is much safer than getting Covid when pregnant as safe as the flu vaccination. I have ridiculous paranoia- again all was well. Again like my other pregnancies could not find out why I was bleeding but just some women do. It is more common then you think it is. It could easily be the pessaries irritating the cervix which has so much blood right now. When I had my 3 early miscarriages I had pain and I bled so much- unlike the spotting it didn't taper off intermittently. It was very different. Have you considered using back passage with the pessaries as that might stop your spotting 🤞🏻 All the midwives I've spoken say spotting is very common and providing there is no pain ( first question any midwife will ask you with bleeding) and not heavy bleeding then it's nothing to worry about but will get you a scan to reassure you. It is awful to see any blood but many women do have a bit of a bleed and have a healthy baby, my sister bled fresh blood at 5 weeks with my niece and had spotting with her eldest child her son. My mum spotted with me and my sister. My dad remembers it nearly 40 years ago as my mum was very freaked out ( no scans then just relied on midwives!) my sister in law bled throughout first trimester and second trimester and her baby was fine. The drs will advise you to rest up with any bleeding , I said to my GP that is easier said than done with my 2 year old daughter 😂 I hope it eases soon and the scan offers that reassurance which we desperately need after bleeding Xx

I bled at 5 weeks really badly and it happened 3 times over 2 weeks the last time I lost a big clot and was convinced i lost the baby that time, but am now sitting next to my 9 week old baby… they could never see what was causing it and they were convinced I was gonna loose him but everytime I went for a scan he was still growing, I believe that cause my period stopped quicker due to all the hormones etc before transfer that my body hadn’t got rid of everything and that’s what caused the bleeding because after I lost the clot I went on to have a healthy and never bled again
