I’m totally worrying about what to do after transfer. Some say to have bed rest, others say to get on with every day life. The problem is we will be in Spain for the two weeks so we won’t be doing ‘normal’ life. My brain is going like over drive… will it be 🥵 too hot. Will I be too active, not active enough. Man ivf makes you have crazy brain. Walnuts, pineapple core, it will be bottled water .. all the plastic. What to eat, not to eat. Anyone else just go a bit nuts.

It’s a great time to go on holiday during the TWW to try to get your mind off things! I would say just try not to overdo the walking and physical activity, usually on holiday I tend to do 10k+ steps a day but maybe try to give yourself a break and not overevert. During my TWW I was going about as usual to work and seeing friends and still seemed to stick. Best of luck to you!
Oh absolutely, it’s very easy to drive yourself nuts with the TWW and there’s so many different opinions on what to do and what not to do.
For my fourth and successful transfer, I relaxed on the “rules” a bit but also followed the advice of my clinic. I didn’t bother with the Brazil nuts, didn’t drink the pom juice, didn’t worry about the fluffy socks or whether I was allowed a piece of chocolate - I generally just kept myself hydrated, ate nutritious foods like my avocados, eggs and other proteins but also allowed myself a naughty treat if I fancied it! I walked each day because I love being outside, I just reduced my pace and didn’t over do it. The one thing I didn’t do this time was my yoga because my clinic didn’t want me to “stretch my stomach muscles”. Turns out I had OHSS anyway so yoga wasn’t really something I fancied doing but it made sense!
Anyway, you’re going to be in Spain so just enjoy that! It will be hot, very hot I hear at the moment so just keep yourself cool with lots of water. Don’t get to a point where you’re over heating. I have sensitive skin, so I avoided the hot sun during my transfer only because I know I don’t handle hot heat very well!
I would also say don’t do things that will later make you feel guilty or like you’ll blame yourself if your transfer doesn’t work, it’s unlikely it would ever be something you or anyone else does but I found that with my earlier transfers, I’d blame it on the fact I had too many smoothies or I walked too far or I did this and that. In reality, it wasn’t anything I did but you still blame yourself don’t you!

I had my FET 2 days ago and my accupuncturist said something really reassuring to me in my session afterwards - she said it's now out of my hands. The embryo now has the work to do and our job is just to facilitate it by getting rest, taking it easy (but not too easy - keep the blood circulating) and eating well.
I would love to be in Spain for my TWW 🤣 I would try to enjoy every moment and take it easy. Think siesta and good wholesome food, keep hydrated. Smile, laugh and enjoy. Sending you lots of luck xx
Enjoy your holiday and just don’t do anything strenuous. I actually ate what I wanted this 2ww, I craved carbs so badly so I ate them! I’ve never worried about plastics or cut them out it’s not something Im hugely clued up about so haven’t changed. Just relax enjoy your time away and it might even make the wait go a bit quicker for you!🤞🏽 Drink plenty of water, I significantly increased my fluid intake this time! X
I was in Spain just for the transfer and back the next day. Same as above comments, loads of water, and nothing to strenuous, plenty relaxing. I took it extra slow, but I think activity is a personal choice. Good luck! Xx
Best of luck with your transfer 💕 Although I spent years (and years!) trying to get good embryos, I’ve only ever done one transfer (with a double donor embryo), which thankfully has taken (now 24 weeks). I asked if I could stay lying on the table after transfer for as long as possible (it was probably 15 mins) and went straight home to the hotel in a taxi afterwards. Just stayed in bed for the rest of the day and went for short, slowish walks the following two weeks (probably 15 mins building up to 20/30 mins). Avoided lifting things “heavier than a kettle” (the nurse’s advice). Had lukewarm showers for first trimester so as not to overheat. Other than eating Brazil nuts and avoiding caffeine, didn’t do anything else, except drinking lots of water and having extra lie downs. Ate lots of food! Mindful IVF app was really good every day too for managing the stress of the wait🤞🏼🤞🏼Being on holiday is a lovely idea. Don’t feel guilty if you just end up lying in bed watching old comedies - anything to distract the brain! xx
I was in Ukraine for the transfer. It's really the best time I ever had. Just don’t do anything strenuous. When you’re going through IVF the day when your doctor actually transfers the embryo into your uterus may seem like a dream — one that’s far away on the horizon. It takes a couple of days, so give yourself a few days to relax and rest. But don’t worry. You certainly don’t have to go on bed rest or lie down all the time. The embryo isn’t going to fall out if you don’t keep your feet up. It might be tempting to abandon the medication you were taking prior to your embryo transfer, but you definitely don’t want to do that without talking to your doctor first. Many women need to keep taking progesterone in the early weeks after the transfer to give their pregnancy the best chance to continue. Progesterone is an important hormone that’s critical to sustaining a pregnancy. It helps the embryo implant (and stay implanted) in the uterus. This is a great time to embrace the healthy eating habits that experts recommend for pregnant women. Ideally, you’ll want to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, as well as foods rich in calcium, protein, B vitamins, and iron. You need 400 mcg of this important B vitamin to prevent neural tube defects. So It’s the time to start it now. Start paying close attention to household products and other gear that you use. Avoid the use of EDCs. EDCs are chemicals that can interfere with the way that your body’s hormones are supposed to work.
