Vaginismus and egg transfer

So we got 29 eggs and the lab have called to say we have 15 embryos. I’m booked in on Monday for the transfer but all my life I’ve had vaginismus and I’m really worried how I’m going to cope🥺 out of this whole journey this is the one thing I have been dreading the most. Also to do it on a full bladder I feel like that scares me too and will be even more uncomfortable! The lady also said about possible putting 2 embryos in I no it sounds stupid but do they do that separate or at the same time? I dont even no given the choice if I should do 2 how do I make that decision🤦🏽‍♀️💖

Congratulations on your embryos, sounds like an amazing number!

I think as you have so many, if they are good quality day 5 embryos and it’s your first cycle then most places would recommend you transfer 1 because of all the risks that come with multiple pregnancies. It is of course ultimately your decision.

If you do choose two, they go in at the same time so don’t worry xx

Wow! Congrats on your embryo numbers. That's great news! Have you talked to your clinic about your vaginismus. One of my friends has this, I think that's what it's called anyway, and they have to drug her for even cervical smear tests! The full bladder is uncomfortable, though, I won't lie! xxxx

I cant remember what drugs they gave me other than Alfentanil (pain killer) they may give you midazolam which is a muscle relaxant. But you can certainly ask before you go. Did they do a mock transfer?xx

Oh really no they haven’t done a mock transfer I didn’t even no that was a thing ha xx

Yeah I'm pretty sure I got midazolam but if they know your history then I'm sure they'll be prepared. I am privately funded and had to have a mock transfer at the same time as baseline scan and I had an endometrial scratch xx

I was partially sedated for transfer, similar to what was done for egg collection. Please ask if this is an option! x
