I've had ovarian cysts identified in previous baseline scans. A blood test will normally follow if identified and based on the results my clinic will make a decision whether to allow me to proceed with the retrieval cycle or not (doing back to back embryo freezing). Each time this has happened I've been allowed to proceed.
Does anyone know what this blood test is looking for and what results would stop a patient being able to proceed with a cycle?
I ask because I've previously had an ovarian borderline tumour removed and want to be sure I'm not being unnecessarily put at risk.
I'd ask my clinic but they're not particularly helpful unfortunately.
Many thanks advance to anyone who replies.

Hi Lala, my understanding is that they test for estrogen to see if the cyst is producing this - if so it will affect your cycle and they will cancel, but sometimes if a cyst isn’t producing estrogen they can continue. That’s my understanding anyway, it’s probably worth double checking!
That makes total sense as I remember hearing somewhere that if the cyst is producing estrogen it can feed off the stims leaving insufficient amounts for other follicles to grow.
