Not a stupid question.
Apparently, there are foods that support progesterone levels. These do not contain progesterone, but a supposed to support its production. There are lists online and in fertility books of the foods, but they are mostly green veg, legumes, whole grains and nuts. Basically, things that constitute a healthy diet!
In relation to your other question - yes, your progesterone can be too high. Sometimes women need to have their fresh cycles cancelled and all their eggs frozen if their progesterone is too high due to all the stim drugs. I think the progesterone needs to be extremely high, though, for it to be considered too much.
I'm sorry I don't have exact numbers. I don't create natural progesterone anymore, so it has never been an issue for me. My problem is getting enough.
Hope this helps.
Hi Boo, have a look a seed cycling which basically is taking pumpkin or flax seed in the first two weeks of your cycle and then sesame or sunflower seeds in the last two weeks. The phytoestrogens in them balance your oestrogen, increasing or decreasing it as necessary during the follicular phase and then supporting progesterone production in your luteal phase.
