I have elevated NK cells (in my blood) and after a second failed FET recently (taking intralipids only), I asked my consultant about the possibility of taking steroids for the next transfer. She seemed quite ambivalent (COVID, risks of taking steroids during pregnancy, etc etc), and eventually said she would be willing to prescribe a low dose at 10mg, along with intralipids.
Anyone else taken a low dosage and had a positive outcome?

Hi lovely, sorry to hear about your 2nd FET. I recently had my 6th transfer and along with intralipids and steroids got my first ever positive! I really think that the immune protocol did the trick so would recommend giving it a go. I’m being a bit more careful than I would re covid but still getting on with life. Xx
Thank you! Sure - I started on 20mg of Prednisolone daily from the start of progesterone and had 1 intralipid dose the day before transfer. I then had another the week after my positive test, and will have another after 8 weeks. I'll stay on the daily steroids until 10 - 12 weeks I think xx
sorry about the failed 2nd transfer. I'm opposite, my doc recommended intralipids plus prednisolone 25mg but I was worried about the side effects and 25mg seems high to me. I know a few people who went on this protocol though (one of them on 10mg) and had a successful live births!
Just goes to show we will worry no matter what 😊 Really good to hear that the protocol has worked for others! I need some hope at the moment as feeling rather hopeless after the recent failed FET (we had been given a 70-74% chance of the FET working - weirdly specific, I know).
With my fourth and successful transfer, I also was given steroids and intrapilids following my immunology report that showed I had elevated NK cells and thyroid antibodies.
I had my first intrapalid during stims, and my second when I was about 6 weeks pregnant I think. I was also give dexamethasone from start of stims through to transfer, then swapped over to prednisolone 10mg per day. After a few days, I was then swapped back to dexamethasone on a low dose (500 microgram) and I’m still on those. I’ll take them until about 12 weeks of pregnancy. I’m being careful due to Covid, so don’t see many people and I’m WFH as I’m also not vaccinated and don’t want to risk this pregnancy. But I haven’t completely stopped living life because of the steroids, just more cautious I guess.
My immunes are also repeated every three weeks at the moment.
I think this protocol helped me get my BFP and I’m so glad I pushed to explore immunes. Lots of luck ☘️ Xx
