NK cells and natural pregnancy

Hello ladies. Hope you are well. I was wondering if anyone has a successful second pregnancy and with high NK cells. I had steroids with my first IVF pregnancy and now I am pregnant naturally but don't have steroids etc. I feel scared and alone. I am hoping my body will do what's right but I feel anxious. I called my old clinic and they said she to covid they are not prescribing steroids. And they suggest I take progesterone. So I am trying to call my doctor's to see if I can have them. Thank you for listening xx

I think you should push your clinic and/or GP or else book a private consult. I recently had a private consult with Nova fertility who prescribed me my steroids last month despite covid. They are zoom consults at the moment but they were great, I had my consult at 9pm on a Saturday night!x

Thank you so much for your advice Orla. I did in fact call the clinic today and have an appointment tomorrow on the phone. Hopefully that should settle my nerves. Hope you are keeping well. Xx

I didn’t say congratulations sorry, it’s amazing news. There is no reason why this won’t be your little miracle, try to believe! I’d take progesterone if you can get your hands on it - there’s no reason why they wouldn’t as it’s not going to cause any harm xx

Yes I’d take the progesterone and insist on getting the steroids you need to get you over the 12-15 week hurdle. They don’t need to see you prescribe and can do general obs/blood tests at GP. This is an important time for you and you don’t want to feel fobbed off. Good luck and don’t feel alone. Everyone’s here for you xx

Thanks so much Anna. Hope you are keeping well!! I called my old clinic and have a phone appointment booked for tomorrow evening. Fingers crossed they give them. I love this site, all yiusdies have been amazing over the years. So nice to see old names pop up too! Hope you are keeping well x

Sorry I answered on another of your posts. I took both progesterone pessaries & steroids for both natural pregnancies- the first one I took both until 12 weeks. This pregnancy I only took steroids until 10 weeks . I had some left over in date thankfully 😅& the GP did agree to prescribe some but wanted approval from gynae which no one got back to him it was during COVID19.🙄I took 5mg twice daily. I would definitely try your GP & explain why you need them and stress the anxiety it is causing you which isn’t good for you or baby. From 12 weeks I’ve been taking low dose aspirin ( midwives recommendation ) I also used it during my TTC 2 week waits as I think it is quite similar to the steroids it is very anti inflammatory which I think creates a safer home for an early pregnancy to establish particularly when you have endo. I used it as a safety precaution. I have had to get a GP to prescribe it as pharmacy won’t sell it to me without a prescription even tho it’s in my maternity notes 🙄🤣It’s utterly mad! Failing the GP perhaps try w private consult. Good luck Xx

Awww Jess how nice to hear form you. Thank you so much. Wow you were lucky to get them off your GP. I don't see my gp giving them lol. But I called my old clinic. How are you keeping? Xz

I was very lucky it was in writing from my old fertility doctor & I was very determined he would help me 🤣🤣🤣 I just wanted to get over the “risky period.” I have such nightmare pregnancies & always experience bleeding in first trimester ugh. 😳 I am 20 weeks on Saturday & we are having another little girl 😍 I hope your clinic can help you. Let us know how you get on. Lovely to hear from you too Xx

Hello ladies. I thought i would post an update, I was told not to take any progesterone or steroids. They said after pregnancy hormones change so I guess we have to do this one all natural. Not going to lie I am on edge and have booked an appointment for an early scan. Did anyone get any niggly pains early on? I forgot my symptoms in my first pregnancy x

Hello Hun! I welcomed another boy last month :) currently feeding him! So I didn't need the steroids :) they treated my pregnancy as a normal pregnancy and not high risk. I hope all works ok with you xx
