hey ladies

My fertility may always be a difficult one as I now only have 1 ovary due to a cancer scare they removed it , but turns out it was endometriosis.

so I have it confirmed by mri also on my bowel and a emdometrioma on my ovary now and adenomyosis too , just to top it off .

My endometriosis has never been excised .

Been trying a year and tried ivf once but got canceled due to follicles not growing enough.

I have 2 goes on the nhs , currently 12.5 amh .

But don’t know what do for the best have surgery first or carry on with ivf which my next appointment is next week .

My surgery will be a big one , and feel like I can’t have a holiday abroad etc if I feel I’ll or the cyst burst etc .

Just feeling anxious about what’s the right thing to do .

Thanks ladies xx

Hi Jade. I don’t have the answers for you, but I also have endometriosis (stage 4) around my bowl and a chocolate cyst. My consultant said not to bother with an operation as we’re going straight for icsi. I don’t know if this is the best advice, but he is an Endo specialist so I trusted his advice. Good luck to you, we start icsi this week, so feel free to follow our journey xx

thanks for your reply , sending you good luck too .

Do you mind me asking how big your cyst is ?

Will that be your first surgery?

How come it’s icsi , I’m all very new to both xx

I can’t remember exactly but I remember them saying it was really small. Small enough to leave. Having ICSI as hubby has low morph. Thank you ☺️ Good luck to you too ❤️

Dear Jade. This is similar to me I was struggling to ovulate after two miscarriages. Fertility specialist said I had pcos and endo would need surgery before ICSI. Advised to taking inofolic supplements. Then three months later had surgery, three month after that had ICSI now have a health beautiful 4 year old boy. Ultimately I was stage 3 endo but I recommend to follow the advise of your physician. If you can maybe just go for the ICSI if it fails do the surgery, recover and try again..no harm done. Best of luck. X

I understand your concerns. But please speak to your physician about the risks they maybe able to ease your mind. Then you may feel more comfortable doing the ICSI / IVF. Best of luck. My thoughts are with you. 🙏🤞

Hi jade, I have had a laproscopy 18 months ago by a general gynea surgeon who found no endo, but I still have all the same symptoms and my consultant thinks it may have been missed. I'm starting IVF next month and they have found an endometrioma on my ovary. I've been advised by my clinic to go straight for ivf instead of having it removed yet, as they will possibly cut away some of my ovary.

I'm not sure if this is the right advice but I'm going ahead with my cycle first to give it the best shot
