Hi ladies, spoke to my doctor about Embryo glue and Assisted Hatching he mentioned Clexane / heparin injections as an adjuvant therapy – also under your decision as you don´t have medical indication....not sure what this injection is and when it's used and for how long...any help please, getting this done before my 3rd frozen embryo transfer and my last.

Hi Hope_1234, how did you find the injections and when did you start them and and when did you finish taking them?

I was prescribed 20mg clexane and 75mg aspirin on my third transfer, after I had two early miscarriages. I believe it has really helped me as I am now 10 weeks pregnant 😊I started the aspirin and Clexane the day before my transfer, I think. I have been told to take the aspirin throughout the pregnancy and stop the clexane when I am 12 weeks pregnant xx

Hi Lou1616, my problem is I hate needles and so nervous with the thoughts of injections...when you started doing them how did you find it, where do you do the injections on your body? Did you have to do them every day at the same time?

I know what you mean but you get used to the injections quickly. Is there anyone in your household that could inject you? I used to ask my fiancé to inject me at the start. I inject the clexane in my stomach around 7am every day. X

I have had the same suggested and will start aspirin and heparin injections if I get a positive test to help maintain pregnancy also because of two early miscarriages. Interesting that I have to start after a BFP I see a lot of ladies on here are advised to take before transfer but either way if it’s your last throw everything you can at it 🤞🏽I also have had glue every time (one successful one not) and my clinic uses assisted hatching as a standard. Good luck x

Hi Mai94, have you started any injections yet? I hate needles and don't know where on your body you do the injections and for how long?

I haven’t yet lovely, I’ve been told to start them if I get a positive pregnancy test. But you administer them in your stomach into the fatty tissue. If you go onto the product manufacturers website they may have a demo video or YouTube subcutaneous injection technique x

I am using 40mg Clexane and 75mg Aspirin daily and as long as my pregnancy progresses i will continue with both until 36/37 weeks under the guidance of my haematologist/ivf consultant.

Hi Lisa543, Can I ask when did you start the injections. How are you finding the process as you have to do it for that length of time? Congrats on you pregnancy

I started them the same day as Progynova so I had done 3 weeks of them before i'd even had transfer but I have a blood disorder. They're not the nicest to inject and can sting a bit but I find the slower I inject the less they bruise. I'm also using progesterone injections. Thank you, i've got my viability scan this week and am so nervous x

If you don't mind me asking. Why were u put on this injection as I have an option to do or not, I've not had any miscarriages I'm going to do embryo glue and hatching did u get any of these done. Did u get a positive after ur injections?

I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks after seeing a heartbeat at 7 weeks. The sonographer at the time said it looked like an issue with the placenta. I mentioned this to my ivf consultant and they sent me for loads of bloods. I tested positive for Lupus Anticoagulant (APS) so was referred to my haematologist who decided when the Clexane/Aspirin would be added. I had glue with all of my transfers. Currently waiting for a viability scan to see how many have stuck, we transferred 2 as it was my 4th transfer x

Hello, I had clexane I injections for my 4th FET. I didn’t have medical indication either, doctor just said it’s something we can try if I wanted just in case I had any blood clotting issues preventing implantation, so we did. Doctor said it wouldn’t do any harm so I thought why not. I’m 12 weeks now. Started clexane injections on day of transfer and continues up to viability scan when I changed to aspirin instead. It’s now up to the midwife whether I continue the aspirin throughout pregnancy.

Clexane injections are super easy because they come preloaded. They sting a little and bruise a bit but honestly they aren’t bad at all.

I'm going to do embryo glue and hatching did u get any of these done. As the injection is an option, not sure if I need with the other 2 things we're getting done.

Yes had embryo glue and my blastocyst was already hatching anyway. I’d take everything they are offering to be honest. They said to me the clexane won’t do any harm but it might be the thing that works. This was my 4th transfer, first time with blood thinners and I’m pregnant 🤷🏼‍♀️

Did u use embryo glue and hatching for ur other 3 transfers?

Embryo glue yes. Hatching no but they were all already hatching or about to hatch. Hatching wasn’t offered as an option because they didn’t think I needed it.

You just have to think about whether you will kick yourself if you don’t try everything this time with it being your last. The injections aren’t bad at all. You will be fine but if you really don’t want to do injections maybe ask about going on aspirin instead? Not sure how it all works but worth an ask maybe?
