How many rounds of ivf/icsi have people had before success? I’ve had 3 rounds without success, I always get good eggs up until day 3 and then then quality nosedives. I’ve ended up with 4 5bc Blastacysts that have been implanted but no success. Hoping to do another round bit looking for people’s advice. Thank you

We did two rounds with my eggs and our 3rd successful round was a known donor round where I’m currently just under 21 weeks pregnant

I’m almost 42 yrs old and my husbands 59. In our 1st and 2nd round we had 2/3 top quality 5 day blasts. One ended in MC, two failed to implant and 2 were PGTA tested and found to be chromosomally abnormal

I would say if the quality is dropping off after day 3, having been on this forum for several years it sounds like there is a sperm quality issue.

If you haven’t already looked into it or had it done a sperm dna fragmentation test could shed some light on what’s going on. Because of my husbands age we had that test done before round 1, and it showed his morphology was slightly low, with no other issues, ICSI was recommended for all our rounds because of this.

We had success on our second round. First round ended up with 2 blastos and both failed, second round again ended up with 2 blastos but one worked. Good luck xx

We been successful on our 4th transfer and one embryo was 5BC (as you mentioned about it). I guess you had chemical pregnancy if you are saying that embryos implanted. I also had 3 chemicals, I would suggest you to speak with your consultant about steroids, this helped me for this pregnancy to pregress. Never go with the same protocol as previous cycles. I’ve just had my first FET from round 5 and it worked!! Got my blood test tomorrow.

We changed doctor after round 4 to a doc who specialises in difficult cases. He suggested using the growth hormone - I’m guessing that’s what made the difference.

Hi, It took 3 rounds for me and 4 transfers. I changed clinics to one closer to home for the third round where they did short cycle whereas my previous cycles had been long down regulation ones.

I was 40 and donor sperm due to MFI but got the fewest number of eggs on the third round with short cycle but maybe better quality?

The long cycle yielded 7-9 eggs but only 1-2 blastocysts and none implanted. The short cycle only 3 eggs, 1 blastocyst but BFP.

I agree with the OP, might be worth investigating sperm issues?

I have had six rounds and got pregnant a couple of times but always miscarried. I have friends who never got pregnant until their 9th transfer and another who had her son on her 7th and her daughter on her 8th x

Hi lovely, I just wanted to say that for us it took 4 egg collections, an ERA test, immunology testing, PGS testing and 6 transfers but we finally got our first BFP (I say first because I know how quickly things can go wrong)… So don’t give up hope!! It can happen sometimes it just takes some people a little longer than others. Xxx
