I’ve only ever done 9-10 days before but this time follicles a bit slow but there are more which I guess is good. Looks like I might need to stim for 13 days. Just wondering if people have had success with stimming longer?

How many days did you stim for?
Hi. Try not to worry about this, as stimulation can vary, even in the same patient. You will be carefully monitored and treated according LH. Good luck. Diane. Diane
my son’s embryo was from stimming for 16 days!!! I was so slow to respond! But he’s 6 months now so that was successful!
I stimmed for over 20 days and had 2 live (healthy) births (at 39 to boot).
Longer stim for me was because it took a while to start "recruiting" so at day 7, only 1 was over 10mm, but my AFC was good and they could see a bunch growing - i was given option to cancel or keep trying. After it happened over a couple of cycles the Dr suspected that my starting suppression dose was too high as it appeared on day 7 when it was dropped growth rate was a lot faster.
I was going through embryo banking. I was pretty consistent in terms of # of follicles/mature eggs apart from when we added HGH - then it went up a lot. My cycle 3yrs earlier was the same except I only stimmed for 9 days or so, but same #of follicles. Cant say about quality for other cycles as luckily I have 3 healthy live births and didn't need to go back to the bank.
Point is extended stimming isn't always a sign things aren't going to go well 😀 It's more common in older women so potentially conflating variables between stimming ti.e and age in terms of success?
Good Luck!
Thank you! Crossing fingers now things look okay on tomorrow’s scan (day 13). I’ve only ever stimmed for 9-10 days and they’ve been top quality but we’ve only ever had very low numbers (I have low AMH and poor response to high dose even when under 35y likely endo related). I just hope that the longer stim does yield more eggs but also that it doesn’t impact the quality for the worst. It’s a minefield!
This seems to be due to oestrogen priming this time and starting stims on day 1 of cycle that things took a little while. But the goal of oestrogen priming was to try and get better synchronisation- which it does appear to have done. Thanks again for taking time to share x
the same to happened to me. I stimmed for over 15 days as initially only had few follicles but extended stimming helped me and the turnout was good in the end, 22 total eggs collected. So I would trust the team and in my body. Wishing you a good outcome.
