Anyone done IVF abroad?

So I keep going back and forth with the clinics here. I've already paid for treatement and due to start in August but now I'm thinking to have a refund and go somewhere else. Everything is so rushed and I feel like just another number to them.

Considering all our savings are going into this, I really want to make the right decision.

I've heard great stories from a clinic in Greece and Prague

Would love to hear of anyone's experiences!

Yes please!

I changed clinics for my 4th cycle and felt that I was just another number to them, all the appointments felt rushed, and each time I went it would be a different nurse or doctor speaking to me. I felt that nobody knew our background or our treatment or what we had been through to get to this point, and how important that cycle was. I did not go back after that cycle. For me with all the stress of the actual cycle I could not deal with anything additional to worry about.

That's how I feel with this clinic, everything is so rushed and unorganised.

Hi Lilly, I'm having treatment in Prague. Happy to have a chat if you have any questions, feel free to pm me! x

Hi could you please pm me the name of the clinic! X

I can’t comment on personal experience as my clinic has been in the UK. But a close friend of mine went to Newlife in Greece and is about to have her baby next week. I also follow ‘browns journey to 3’ on insta and they went to NewLife and they are now pregnant with twins from a donor egg. It seems their feedback is they don’t feel like just a number there and you get a more personal experience. It might be worth looking at their profile on Insta, I know they used a small company to help them find the best clinic for them abroad so that might also be worth exploring. Best of luck! Xx

I've actually booked in a free consultation with them as I also follow the browns journey! Did it work for your friend first time? Thank you x

in reply to

Ahh fab! You know all about their journey then. Yes worked first time for my friend. She did have two embryos transferred and was pregnant with triplets, unfortunately the twins were high risk and she lost them. But the one is still going strong and due next month! Xx

Oh wow! Glad the one is doing good ! X

Hi Lilly… we had two rounds in the UK costing a small fortune nearing £20k and my husband has said exactly that.. we just felt like a number with very little personal touch.. very poor.. so we moved to clinic in Czech using donor and they were absolutely fabulous .. worked first time at 41.. and about £5k all in including travel… happy to give you all the info if it would help x

Hi Lilly, we went to Norway to have ICSI with our own eggs and sperm. We chose that clinic because we met them at a fertility fair, and they indeed didn't treat us as numbers. We had a good feeling, and it worked first cycle (two transfers though). We were both 39 at the time.We had two unsuccessful rounds funded by the NHS, but looking back I wish I just went straight for a private clinic abroad. It wasn't the cheapest option, but it was cheaper than in the UK.

Has anyone done IVF in Paris? Just had my 4th failed transfer in London and have now moved and it’s time for change. I can’t imagine going back and forth for treatment in the current climate.
