Spotting at 4weeks and 3 days pregnant

So the worry begins. Yesterday I had a positive beta result of over 600 at 11dp5dt.

This morning when I went to the toilet on wiping I have noted some spotting. Obviously I am now really anxious and googling like mad.

It’s going to be a long 3 weeks to my scan 😩😞

When you say spotting if it’s brown then it’s old blood, so you don’t need to worry.

If it’s red and can start filling a pad you would need to call the clinic or your local Early Pregnancy unit to get advice.

I bled the day before our 7 week scan, thought it was all over and it was actually a subchrionic hematoma, which is quite common apparently.

Good luck 👍

Thank you for your reply it’s pinkish and only when I wipe. I have messaged my clinic about it x

Hi Katrina. Oh dear! Hopefully nothing to worry about. it might be irritation from using pessaries vaginally, or even a bit of a urine infection. occasionally spotting occurs as the chorionic villi change over into being a placenta, although it i a little early for that. If it conti es, pop into an Early pregnancy Unit for their advice, to reasure you. Fingers crossed. Diane

Hi Diana. Thank you I have spoken to my clinic they have said it can be common and to observe on a pad. There has been nothing on to a pad just now and again when wiping and no cramps. I have never been pregnant so as you can imagine I’m anxious xx

Hi Of course you're anxious! I'm hoping it's just the chorionic villi thing, or even a bit of an infection, so keep an eye out for any smell or temperature. Drink plenty of water too. Thinking of you. Diane

Hun I have always spotted every pregnancy - the ones that weren't ok heavy bright red with cramping. Generally pink and Brown spotting is quite common for early pregnancy and as long as you are not seeing bright red heavy bleeding with severe cramps chances are it is ok. Usually at 4.5 weeks there is a second implantation which can cause light spotting pink or brown usually. Also the progesterone may irritate your cervix and-will cause a bit of spotting as there us more blood there. Pregnancy after infertility is very hard I never relaxed having my 2 year old daughter following a 7 year struggle. P.s we must be due same time as I'm also 4 weeks but 2 days pregnant & also my scan can't come quick enough 🙈 ( due to being under a recurring miscarriage specialist I'm having 2 early scans one at 7 and 9 weeks) Rest as much as you can you have got this 😘 Xx
