Hi all, I’ve posted a few times some random questions but not really given my position which might help people with responding to me
I’ve been TTC for 2 years plus, 34 years old, low amh, had one failed fresh ivf cycle and no frozen eggs. I was on a long protocol and didn’t respond well to the drugs in the normal way hence the one egg they got wasn’t of good quality as it took 20+days to grow! He said my ovaries didn’t wake up and follicles were very slow to grow.
He has suggested to attempt a natural modified cycle which is last resort before egg donation.
Anyone else in a similar situation?
Thanks
Xx

Hi lovely, I also have endo with a cyst on each ovary. I started treatment when I was 36. My AMH was 6.8. At first the docs kept saying I was going to be doing a long protocol but then when I got to the app I was told it was short ( not sure why but I went with it) From that we got 9 eggs, 5 fertilised, by day 5 we had 3. First 2 transferred failed. Our last one which had been frozen was put back the end of Jan and that worked, I just wanted to give you hope that ladies with endo and low AMH still can be successfully. Did they say why they would try the natural way rather than the short protocol xx
I assume they said natural because i don’t respond well to drugs so short would be the same situation?! I mean I didn’t even know I had endo until my first scan as I don’t have any symptoms as such like pain or anything. Thank you for sharing your story it’s definitely given me some hope xxx
Similar situation to me. I have low AMH too. My first cycle of IVF I was on long protocol and my follicles were just not responding very well. I was also stimming for 20 days and it ended in disaster as I got no eggs collected. In subsequent cycles I have been on short protocol and have had 6 eggs collected both times. Still no pregnancy but have got two frozen which I never thought would be possible after cycle 1!
No cysts at the moment (that I know of! maybe that will be the next treat ! ) but I'm now firmly in the poor responder category too, I think, so I sympathise. I haven't done a natural modified cycle but have heard good things on here from other ladies. Sending hugs xx
Yes, on long protocol now. First ever cycle was short protocol, not great response. So we changed a lot and the second cycle was long, exactly same combo I'm on now. I had a good response for my age and AMH then, but for some reason not this cycle. Maybe my fertility has really dropped off a cliff since then. Maybe having my covid vaccine right before this was a mistake. Maybe this was just a bad cycle for me.... no way of knowing at this point I guess 🤷😪 xx
I did four rounds before surgery for endo, got 1 blast. Did surgery, changed docs and made 8 blasts over the next three rounds. I would definitely recommend surgery, there is a theory that growing eggs in endo conditions damages them. However the downside to surgery is that stripping out the cysts causes a loss of ovarian tissue and less therefore less eggs. Ethanol Sclerotherapy will remove the cysts with no loss of eggs so I would look into that. Otherwise just drain the cysts. Also note, endo causes inflammation of the lining of the uterus that makes implantation much less likely without specific meds, so I would look into a receptiva test to check the lining for inflammation markers.
Hi I had an amh 3.8 3 years ago I look a lot of vitamins along with raspberry leaf tea I had a lining of 7.8 prior to ovulation which shrunk back to 5.6 where the nurse told me I had no chance......
That same month I fell pregnant & now nearly 20 weeks. the following medications, Estrogen, Progynova 10mg and Trental-Pentoxyfylline I read about which have great increases in linings thickening. This is what I was going to ask for may be worth seeing what your lining is too xx
I only had 3 eggs when I did ivf nearly 4 years when I did ivf... I just didn’t react well to the medication at all. So I begged them for a much lighter approach of ovulation induction & folicule tracking (I took a lot of vitamins on top) & managed to eventually get pessaries which I believed really helped. I was so stressed about amh.... but our little miracle is growing strong..... it will happen 😊 xx
