This time last year I spent all day, everyday, crying. In February 2019 we attended our first IVF consultation. We left devastated because we were told that ivf was not suitable for us due to my low AMH which was 2.3. We needed IVF because my OH had 100% bound antisperm antibodies due to a vasectomy/reversal. Thanks to the strength of my dear OH and the amazing support on this forum I didn’t give up. We battled on. We got advice from a second and then a third consultant. We started our first round of ICSI in April/May 2019 (I was 34). From 3 follicles we had 2 eggs collected. They both fertilised. They both grew to day 3 embryos. We had them both transferred. OTD gave us our BFP. Our viability scan showed we were pregnant with a singleton. At 40 weeks plus 4 days our little boy came into the world. My labour was straight forward and lasted less than 7 hours. I’m writing this looking at my little boy who is a picture of health. He was born 5 weeks ago.
I hope my experience encourages ladies like me to not give up. If you don’t like what one consultant tells you, keep fighting, find another, and if the second one is no good keep going! Find a third!
Thank you to Diane who supported my OH when I couldn’t. Diane you made such a difference to us.
Stay strong ladies. Keep fighting. X
