I just want to say that I really feel for you. That is a lot to take on board. When do you expect to get a plan? I would recommend a book called ‘It starts with an egg’ for advice on improving quality. I would say that because of your age, although you might not have as many eggs they are more likely to be better quality than someone older with that amh.

Also make sure you are happy with your clinic and consultant. My first round was privately funded but through an NHS clinic and it was awful. I changed for my second round and although I haven’t had any successful cycles it has really helped having people who actually seem to care. I wish you lots of luck and definitely reach out as the support here is great.

Thank you to all of you who have replied, it means so much to know you're not alone.I'm new to IVF and this is my first cycle funded by NHS. I wasn't overly impressed with the running of the clinic but I have nothing to compare it to. The terminology and numbers has blown my mind to pieces I feel like I don't understand half of it, then o Google and Co fuse myself more.

I felt so low hearing the news of my AMH, They said it was 'abnormal' for someone of my age, which makes you feel even shittier than you already do not being able to conceive naturally.

Going into this I really thought I'd have an open mind and what will be will be etc, but feel myself so consumed by it all.

I don't know what the plan is now they are discussing me between consultants, it's a waiting game

😑

Hi lovely, its a lot to take in isn't it. However all is not lost. Everyone is different and some people have high AMH & follicle count, and don't get any blastocysts - some have very low counts of everything and get some, try not to get too caught up with the numbers. All you need is one good one and you'll be away. I would say to try not to compare yourself with everyone else - every person's journey is different and what works for some may not work for others. Wishing you lots of luck. x

Morning sounds very similar to me I found out last year when 34 amh 2.47! And AFC 6. I am 35 now and just finished a cycle with NHS I only got two eggs but they both fertilised and were top and good quality! Sadly they didn’t stick but seems like my eggs and embryos were good quality! Hope that gives you hope! There are lots of ladies with positive stories of low AMH with IVF working!! It seems scary and hopeless now but you will have your chance! Good luck!! Are you with NHS or private?xx

Hi Flossybubble. Oh dear! I think they will have to stimulate you carefully so you don't produce these cysts. Good luck! Diane

Hi hun,

I’m 36 AMH 2.1

Follicle count was 4 , with only 1 growing, I was given less than 5% chance.

Anyway despite the follicles not growing well, During EC they managed to collect 3 mature eggs, one of which I had transferred today and was the best quality.

Please don’t give up hope , the follicles grow in mysterious ways and every scan I had wasn’t looking good until EC.

Discuss with your consultant the best supplements and vitamins to take and try not to be hard on yourself.

Xxx

Hi I had an amh 3.8 3 years ago I look a lot of vitamins along with raspberry leaf tea I had ovulation tracking & found my lining was an issue on top on low amh.... I had a lining of 7.8 prior to ovulation which shrunk back to 5.6 where the nurse told me I had no chance......

That same month I fell pregnant & now nearly 20 weeks. the following medications, Estrogen, Progynova 10mg and Trental-Pentoxyfylline I read about which have great increases in linings thickening. This is what I was going to ask for may be worth seeing what your lining is too xx

She told me at last scan which was day 5 that my lining was 5.4? She said that was normal as building back up for the monthly cycle. My cycle is shortish around 25 days.

I asked if anything could help increase my AMH they said no, however I have read about a vitamin called Impryl?

Have you heard of this? Xx

Hi no I haven’t but I got a lot of my supplements from the blog maybe baby.... plus raspberry leaf tea. Yes keep an eye on your lining as mine got to 7.8 on day 11 & as I have shorter cycles this was ok but they wasent saying it was good. I then went back on day 16 & was told it was 5.6.... & I had no chance.... however I fell pregnant so there’s always hope.... I just have shorter cycles & a thinner lining too x

So did you fall naturally pregnant or through ivf xx

Gemz29 in reply to Flossybubble

I only had 3 eggs when I did ivf 4 years ago....I just didn’t react well to the medication at all. So I begged them for a much lighter approach of ovulation induction & folicule tracking (I took a lot of vitamins on top) & managed to eventually get pessaries which I believed really helped. I was so stressed about amh.... but our little miracle is growing strong..... it does happen 😊 xx

Flossybubble profile image
Flossybubble in reply to Gemz29

Did the clinic inform you of what vitamins to take and also the pessary? I have heard of these xx

Gemz29 profile image
Gemz29 in reply to Flossybubble

No the vitamins I got from a blog online called maybe baby... they gave me pessaries as I said I was willing to try anything to make it work.... they didn’t want to do it but in the end I believe this helped. As when I miscarried very early before I wasent on them. Xx

I didn’t find my clinic much help ie I had to tell them & put things on the table all the time they never recommended anything to me but donor eggs.....I did a lot of manifesting at the time too xx

If you can get the clinic to do lining checks throughout your cycle as I had a day 3, 9, 11 & then 15/6 which was when they noticed my lining. Yours maybe fine, but might be worth eliminating this x

I will keep an eye it thank you for all the advice, i haven't found the clinic too helpful tbh they don't seem the best at keeping me informed etc I have to chase everything. All the best xx

Try not to worry about cysts I had them on my first appointment but they went on there own accord.... I also had surgery but they never found anything. Don’t be scared to do your own research & say what u would like checking as amh does not mean the worst. However I used to find it so difficult to get through to the clinic as they seem to like to use it a lot.... remember it only takes one egg.... 😊 xx
