Question to all the ladies who transferred PGT A tested embryos and had 12 weeks of pregnancy genetic screening ( trisomy 21, trisomy 18)

I have a question to all the ladies who were successful with PGTA tested embryos. I had my dating scan yesterday at 13 weeks, my embryo was tested before the transfer and did not have any problems but somehow I just can not stop worrying, I am freaking out that somehow I can still get bad news.Is it still possible that a baby can have these genetic problems despite the fact that the embryo was “healthy” before the transfer? I would love to hear your experiences and whether you have any knowledge of this?

Ohhh i understand you perfectly i was on the same situation 2 weeks ago. I am having twins with 2 PGS tested embryos. My results came back 1:100000 😁😘 You know that no test is 100% accurate but the chances are very slim for them to find any trisomy. Stay calm and relax, everything will be fine. Don't fill your brain with negative thoughts is not necessary. Take care and enjoy your pregnancy 😘💖🤗

Oh Ranchu your result is fantastic, congratulations! I am freaking out, mainly due to my age, I am 39 so I know my risk is much higher🙄 I could not sleep all night, looking at the pictures from the scan not sure what to look for, I am such a worrier I already convinced myself that I see that my baby’s nuchal translucency is thicker than it should be🤯 I am just so worried. Next week can not come fast enough x

But you have your measurements on the baby's neck in mm, you don't have to look at the picture with necked eyes and think that is too thick. Don't stress that much, is not necessary ... I wanted 2 weeks to have the results back... dreaded 2 weeks 😤😬 is like I was back in IVF world again when I thought I just graduated 😂 chances are very low to be on high risk even calculating your age at the end of the day is just a math formula. Sending my love to you 😍💕🤗

Oh she did not give us any measurements, she said that it will all be sent with the blood results next week. Drsaid all looks good so I was stupid enough not to ask any questions🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s always the same... I go to the scan, I see the baby on the screen and I forget the entire world! As soon as I leave the office my list of questions is endless 😑

Hey lovely,

I had a successful pregnancy last year with a PGT tested embryo and I completely understand your worry. As Ranchu said, nothing is 100% accurate but the chances of a trisomy after PGT are incredibly low. I know you’ll probably still worry (I did!) but that’s a healthy baby you have in there, congratulations and I hope you get your results soon to put your mind and ease and let you enjoy your pregnancy a bit xxxx

Thank you for you reply, you girls don’t know how much it helps me to hear positive stories from you ❤️ I am just a bag of nerves, it is just one thing after another 🤷🏻‍♀️ First you worry if you get pregnant and when you do the real worry kicks in ... I hope I will be able to relax a bit after next week 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hi Nuszkahope, I had the dame worries as you as I was categorized high risk due to my age(49) so went ahead for a harmony test (NIPT test - short for noninvasive prenatal testing) at week 12. Basically, they not only do an ultrasound scan but also a blood test and analize in maternal blood whether the baby is at high or low chance of having trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome) or trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome). As far as I understood, this should be available to all pregnant women starting week 10. While the test only analizes the mentioned abnormalities, they can also find out the gender of your baby. The test gives an accuracy of 95-97% result. My insurance didn‘t cover the cost for the test, so be prepared to have additional cost for the scan and blood test (cost vary between £300-£600)

Thank you for your reply and congratulations on your pregnancy xx I had a blood test done as well, hopefully I will have all the results on Monday. The doctor said that I should come for another test at 20 weeks as I have nothing to lose and it it covered by my insurance. It seams that the testing never ends 🤨
