So I think I’m just writing for my own sanity and to keep some kind of record really. Just had my egg collection and now sitting in my hospital room waiting for the ok to go home ( at least the room and food is nice - I guess I’m paying enough for it!😂)
It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster morning told we had 3 eggs collected I had hoped for 4 (5 follicles). Then a lovely nurse popped in to break the news it was just 2. After a chat she leaves only to come back 5 min later to say actually it was 3! I keep reminding myself it only takes 1 good one.
Whilst that’s happening the room phone starts ringing and it’s the embryologist - we need ICSI which was unexpected as when we had our initial investigation in Jan other half had “super sperm”
Had quite enough for 1 day looking forward to going home now!

Hi I had egg collection yesterday morning and they collected 9 eggs. We had the same experience with a phone call about needed ICSI which was very unexpected, as like yours, my partner had been told he had perfect sperm in both previous sample tests he had had at the hospital.Anyway, we had a phone call this morning to say 8 out of the 9 fertilised which is good news, now we have to wait until sat morning to see if any turn good embryos ready for transfer on mon.
Good luck with yours and like you say it only takes one.
Update just had the call from the clinic 2 grade A 8 cell embryos so 🤞🏻 we are on course 2 good blastocysts. First better than expected news we have had on this journey!
