So a week ago I had my Egg Collection after the stimulation process, unfortunately the eggs didn't make it past the fertilisation process and so now we're looking for a private clinic for another try.
Is there a certain amount of time you have to wait between cycles?
And as I'm due my first period since ICSI Cycle and I went through egg collection, will I still ovulate this time?

Some clinics are advising you to wait for one month, others are ok to start straightaway. My suggestion is to wait as you already have enlarged ovaries that can take 2--3 months to go back to normal size. Yes, you will ovulate but in my case always was a late ovulation after 20 days for some reason.
I am really sorry this cycle didn't work I feel the pain. My advice is to find a clinic with good embryologists, they can make huge difference. Good luck and stay strong 💪🤗❤️
Sorry to hear this, the same thing happened to us. I was (somewhat) prepared for getting the BFN but wasn’t prepared for not even getting any embryos.
I had a bleed 2 weeks after the collection and then I was very fortunate to have a period the following month. Ovulation kits showed I was ovulating during that period (the month after)
We are NHS (Scotland) so we had to wait for a review with the Dr and Embryologist which was about 8 weeks later. I have a video call with the nurse next week to work on protocol for second round which we are so lucky to be eligible for.

In older woman with poor response doing consecutive cycles or waiting one month is better than waiting more time. There is no time to wait. You can ovulate as soon as in the following mensural cycle. If you are not ready for IVF and setting things up you should not waste the opportunity to try natural. Good luck!

Hi, this is exactly what happened to me but we went private for the first round too. When it all happened I didn’t feel emotionally ready for a second round however after our follow up our Dr said ok let’s go for a second round with changes so we have both had a Karyotyping test and my partner a DNA fragmentation. We are changing a few things from our stimulation through to the egg collection and fertilisation so hopefully will have a better chance of getting some good embryos.
We waited until AF arrived after my egg collection which was actually 18 days after my egg collection and we are now in our prep month again before we start stims. I now feel ready to go again. I think it was just the initial shock that none of our 6 embryos made it to blast.

Hi sparkle183, if you have regular periods you should ovulate monthly too, my last icsi cycle was in January and still haven't restarted, myself and partner are on the waiting list, the private clinics have waiting lists too, we are eating more healthy and exercising more to distract I will be 41 in October so can't help but feel this will be our last cycle x
Hi, sorry to hear your story. Unfortunately it is similar to ours. It well and truly sucks when it fails...I have 5 fertilized eggs in the freezer (all ICSI). Not as good quality as my 5AA, but have a 3AA, 2x 3AB and 2x 3BB. I’m grateful for that. However, I’ve done so much reading that says even with great looking embryos you can have chromosome abnormalities. So I’m going to ask if they can be tested before being transferred, if possible. It can be devastating to learn your treatment has failed this time. I’ve also read there’s no reason why I can’t try straight away. My cycle hasn’t started yet, so I may push them to allow me to start it with this cycle rather than wait. I think if I wait, my mind will go crazy!
Hiya, I’m so sorry to hear that. I had the same thing happen in March. I was absolutely gutted. I might have started again if I could but my clinic wanted to to have two bleeds before restarting and the second one they ran some tests to check some things and help them decide the protocol for next time. I was on long the first time and short flare this time (aim is to get fewer better quality eggs). Can’t say if it’s improved fertilisation/Icsi results yet as not quite there yet but I’m hopeful! I think how quick you can go again will depend on the clinic so it’s something you can check when looking into choosing one. Wishing you all the best for your next cycle!! Xx
