Irregular periods starting at 37

Hello,

I've been ttc for years. Had 1 mc 2 years ago. My cycle since the mc has been 25-27 days long. I've just started period and it's a 20 day cycle. Month before was 27 days. Month before that 23. What's going on? I'm super stressed about it. I'm 37 now. I'm really panicking I'm starting peri menopause. I'm so scared. Can anyone advice me what I should do. I'm starting ivf in December after we get married. Shall I phone my doctor to get blood tests?

I'm so frightened.

Hi Kathryn, I say call your doctor and find out what is going on. It could be completely normal and nothing to worry about! 😊 You say you are starting IVF in December after you get married but apart from the wedding are there reasons for the delay?

If you are worried about your fertility then please get tests done, talk to fertility specialists and find out the best way forward for you! Best wishes and I hope you get your answers! Xx

Just because I'm realistic in that I know the ivf is probably going to fail, and that I wanted to save myself the heartbreak in the run up to my wedding. Plus, all the hormones and everything will probably bloat me and I'll look horrible in my dress. We just thought to put the heartbreak off until after the wedding. I wanted one happy day in my life where infertility doesn't matter.

So sorry for your loss and ongoing struggles. I had a mc last June and my period has been all over the place since then too. Anywhere from 20-30 days. I ended up going back to acupuncture which helped things regulate (eventually). Not sure if that’s something you could try. Thinking of you. X
