Infertility, Endometriosis and very few and rubbish eggs :)

Hello everyone!

I am 40 going to 41, found out about 2 years ago that I have very very low AMH (0.07) and high FSH (50 something).

I live in London but I am from Greece. I have spoken to people in both countries and most doctors give me a possibility of like 1%.

My partner and myself have decided to go for a 3-cycle package with Create London who do Natural/ Modified IVF, firstly because they do an installment plan, secondly because the Natural IVF seems difficult to do in Greece as it needs frequent monitoring and thirdly just to not have the regrets that we did not try with my own eggs.

In the meantime, I had an appointment with an Endo surgeon who told me I have some Endo (but not Stage 4) and that he will put me in the list for a laparoscopy, which will happen in about 1 year (huge waiting list before me and no routine operations til recently due to Covid). I told him I was thinking of trying a 3 cycle package with Create and then if that doesn't work, I was thinking of going to Greece for donor egg. And he said 'Please do me a favour and do the donour egg after the surgery then'.

I had a look at adoption too and attended an open evening and it sort of made me think as there were a lot of other factors there to think about, which like all else, are new to me. I need time to adjust to this new reality.

Would you advise me to do the 3 cycle package to see if we can get an embryo to freeze (and then transfer after the operation)? That seems impossible but maybe there is a small chance? I wish I had the courage to go straight to donour egg!

Have other people had success with donour egg and have there been cases that even donor eggs are unsuccessful?

Does anyone else had experience / sucess with Create clinic?

Anyone else had experience with Endo and fertility issues?

Any advice would be appreciated, as this is all a bit much to get my head around..

Many thanks!

Hi Peanutbutter, I think that your plan to do three cycles and look at "Freeze All" is a very smart idea that makes the most of your cycles AND your upcoming lap. Particularly since there is evidence that doing one cycle after a other without breaks means that the second cycle benefits from the drug stims from the first cycle and the third cycle benefits from the stims of the first and second cycle. This supposedly can lead to an increase in egg numbers and quality. It's recommended for ladies getting a little older (and it was my plan moving into my second cycle to do a few cycles to bank some embabies). And I had my lap in March (fell naturally pregnant in April) and one of the reasons I did my lap was because pregnancy rates go up if a lap is performed and endo is removed. So trying to conceive after your lap may yield better results but talk to your FS about all your options! 😊

I would be the same...determined to try with my own eggs. So I say go for it (if you can afford it!) and keep thinking about the DE as the next step after you do your cycles, lap and then transfers. With some luck and baby dust hopefully you will manage to get a sticky bean! 🤞

Is there anyway you can get the endo thing sorted more quickly? Can a private person sort you on the nhs list quicker ? Or anything like this? Sooner it’s done the better if you are trying your own eggs. Time is the clincher in all of this. Life is so hard sometimes 😳 does the clinic doing the three cycles think your stats are good? Have they mentioned donor eggs?

Hi! Sorry you're going through such a stressful time. I hope you are taking care of yourself. Is it possible for you to have the laparoscopy privately? Perhaps in an other country? Do you know if you still ovulate every month? I'm not sure if I would sign up for three rounds of natural IVF without having one round first to see what happens. You may want to see what a more powerful round of standard IVF does or decide to move straight to donor eggs or continue and do another 3 rounds of mild. If you have never tried ivf it's so difficult to know how you will respond. Good luck with your decision xxx
