I have been through ICSI before, when my BMI was just under 30, and it was successful on the 4th attempt.
We are now considering trying for a sibling and made an appointment in July last year with our clinic. My AMH has went down more since last time and I’m 38 this time.
The clinic said if I get back to my previous weight they don’t see why it wouldn’t work but I’m struggling with the weight loss this time, due to several things.
My worry is if we wait until our weight loss then I’m closer to 39 and the longer I wait the harder it could be.
My BMI is 31.7 just now, I’m about 1 stone heavier than before and hubby is heavier also.
Has anyone has success stories with BMI’s over 30?
I don’t know if I should wait or just go for a cycle now.

I’ve lost loads of weight for IVF and I’m still around the 30 mark. 3 clinics commented on my weight, saying I need to lose more (40kgs so far) the 4th one (who we went with) were so happy that I managed to loose weight and have not said one thing about me losing anymore, in fact they told me to calm down on my training! Apparently (I’m no doctor but have done a lot of reading about this) being overweight can affect your hormones, that’s it- there isn’t much information that show being overweight with IVF. I think the chance of miscarriage went up by 2% but other than that there isn’t much in it.
I managed to speak to my clinic today. They said as long at it was under 40 we could go ahead. That’s such a difference to the NHS. I had a friend who was being really pushed to get her weight under 30 so they could proceed.
