BMI for implantation
I was told < 25
Personally my BMI is about 30, I got pregnant on my very first transfer. Everything has been going well with no complications too. My doctor never expressed any concern as BMI is not always a great indicator of exact health status. I am not sure about cases where BMI is much higher say towards 40 or more, this is what I experienced at my BMI. All the very best to you, wishing you baby dust.
I lost lots of weight for 1st and 2nd attempt. By my 3rd had almost given up and put it all back on. My weight has always fluctuated but my default status is large but healthy and active. Such a difficult path to be on with many challenges along the way. I'd like to be able to take some of the worry away and wish u luck. I might add also that I upped my meds to balance the equation. 🙏🍀❤️
Hi DrNS. Below 30 BMI is just fine. Diane
I just asked about this because I've gained weight too and am sitting at a BMI of close to 30 now. My RE said she wasn't that concerned that it would affect implantation and encouraged me to go forward with my transfer next week.
My bmi is now 35, i needed it to be below 35 to start treatment. I hope it doesn’t go above 35 in the next 2 months 😣
There are some really good weight maintenance and weight loss apps out there that enable you to manage your weight in a healthy way rather than crash dieting. I found just finding out what was in everything I ate by logging it on an app and finding out the real detail really opened my eyes to my weight and diet. I thought I was super healthy - I ate my five a day etc but in reality I was amazed when I discovered hidden sugars and salts, hidden fats etc., that often cancel out all the perceived goodness.
Just a thought if you wanted to try and keep on track x
Some clinics wont allow treatment if your BMI is too high as its believed that it can affect implantation. My BMI was actually the highest it has been for all of my transfers, my weight has crept up over the years of treatment and I was hovering around 29. I think if it was really high it would be an issue but I'm sure under 30 is acceptable.xx
Even for natural pregnancy they note your bmi it’s to do with getting gestational diabetes aswel so being a healthier weight is better.
My only successful transfer out of 4 was the one I consciously made an effort to lose 1/2 a stone for.....
Hiya we were told by the nhs that my bmi and weight was too high for ivf so I lost a chunk of weight went private and they told me that losing weight was detrimental as it changes your hormones 🤦♀️
