I’ve been taking pregnacare conception for a few years and someone mentioned trying proxeed for women. I’ve been looking into it since and it says it improve egg quality etc so could be better for fertility issues whereas pregnacare is more generics prenatal for those also without fertility issues.
Has anyone used proxeed for women and have any opinions on whether it works? Have you used it as a replacement to your prenatal or in addition? A bit worried I’ll be over consuming vitamins if I take both.
Thanks xxx

Hello, i have done 3 fresh rounds. 1st round used pregnacare BFN amd also messed up my cycles, 2nd round consultant recommended proxeed BFN. By round 3 i was less positive about the outcome. I just took folic acid and vitamin D and now 24 weeks pregnant with twins. For me it made no difference and was more down to the stims dosage and protocol. Also I overlapped woth some of them and was told you can't overdose on them, your body will just get rid of what it doesn't need. It had no effect for me but others may have had different experiences xx
Unfortunately my first round failed which I don't attribute to the supplements I was taking but after doing some research, following fertility nutritionists and reading it starts with an egg the general consensus is if your prenatal supplements are 'one a day's they generally don't contain enough of what you need. Additionally most of them contain synthetic folate (folic acid) so you may not be receiving enough of it. I'm currently taking, NAC, coq10 (600mg), vit C, E, D, iron (I'm borderline anemic so my clinic recommended it), r alpha lipoic acid, selenium and fish oil. But its important to note these are just supplements so don't rest your outcome on these. Some women have overhauled their lifestyle and been unsuccessful, others haven't changed much at all and been successful.
I think the take away is do what's best for you, what you can afford but know that some of this is out of our control.
Hoya, I’m taking proxeed but swapped to this ahead of starting ivf (was taking pregnacare preconception before) on recommendation of my reflexologist so I can’t say if it’s made a difference to treatment or not. You don’t need to take both at the same time - proxeed has the same but extra in as I understand it. I don’t think you’ll overdose but it would be a waste of money. I’m also taking a bunch of other supplements as recommended by my dr after one failed cycle. I get the impression they don’t generally recommend these (they’re expensive!) unless it looks like there’s an issue with egg quality.
Hiya, I was recommended Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, CO Enzyme Q10, Alpha Lipoic Acid R-Form, DHEA and Melatonin (I needed a prescription for this) x
We are looking to embark on our 3rd cycle and it dawned on my that pregnacare is a general conception prenatal for people with no fertility issues and didn't seem to be for women with age related egg problems etc, hence me thinking of swapping to Proxeed.
I am currently looking at Proceive Max as well but when my pregnacare prenatals run out I may swap to Proxeed or Proceive Max. It may not help but worth a try.
