For those of you who had cyclogest 400mg twice daily during early pregnancy did anyone have their progesterone levels tested to ensure they weren’t too low. I’m having a huge panic as just had mine tested several days ago when was 8 weeks 4 days and they came back 454 nmol/L which is 142 ng/ml is this the result of cyclogest and I never really needed it to begin with. Everywhere I read says trimester 1 range is between 10 - 47 ng/ml how can mine be 142!!😮
What were your readings?

Hi sunset, I asked my consultant about testing levels (as my transfers have not stuck) and he said the only reason progesterone is prescribed is a belt and braces approach, he said that body would produce enough to sustain levels for pregnancy. I don't know whether this is true in all cases as must be some people who need it, but I thought it was interesting.
Hi there, I was in the same situation and very similar progesterone blood test result at week 10. That's a good sign, your placenta is producing enough progesterone which is a sign of healthy pregnancy. I was taking cyclogest 400 twice a day until week 11 and I was told that this can not do any harm. You can start reducing a dosage to one per day and then stop completely by week 11 or 12. I am looking now at my 10 weeks old healthy baby girl. Best of luck!
Oh thank you so much that is reassuring to read big congratulations on your little girl that's lovely 10 weeks aww ! Hope your enjoying motherhood? I feel better now xx
