Kindly asking if anyone has experience with endo and ivf ... i have stage 4 endo .. did 3 laps .. did 2 ivf’s fresh transfers before which failed and now into my 3rd will be frozen this time .. i just wanted to ask i did lap december 2020 to drain a cyst and clean endo ( also checked for hydrosalpinx did not find any though he told me my tubes are abnormally shaped ) but after i started stimming the endometrioma came back and grew so quickly to 10cm in a month .. the dr says he cannot keep on doing surgeries as my amh is already very low and i barely respond to treatments considering my age . So he will proceed with ivf , he given me cetrotide starting 3rd day of period for 3 days and then estrofem .. but i keep reading negative stories about how endometriomas can release toxins that kill embryos and how implantation is diminished in endo so i am so afraid to get my hopes up and face another failure . Can anyone advise or share their stories maybe i can gain a little hope .. also the RE put me on aspirin 81 but i don’t know if its enough to calm my inflammations

Hi lovely, I have endo but I don’t actually know what stage as never been told. I had a lap done 11 years ago and 2 large endometriomas removed one from each ovary. After that I went on the pill which thankfully controlled the pain. Fast forward to 2017 I came off the pill and started trying for a baby with no joy. I did have a scan 6 months before starting IVF as I felt my ovaries were so achey but no cysts then went for my IVF tests and there was one on each ovary again and one in my pelvic cavity. Anyways we done our first fresh round last year and they decided on a short protocol and it didn’t work. In January I had a frozen round which I done with a long protocol and it worked. The reason they down regged me for the frozen was I ovulated taking just the tablets but I feel for me it being a long protocol and a frozen was the best mix. We did get 9 eggs on the first collection 5 fertilised and 3 survived till day 5. 2 were put back the first round as the grading wasn’t too strong and then the last one that actually went from being the weakest to the strongest was put back for my frozen transfer and that’s my lucky egg. I have seen a number of stories on here where IVF has worked for women with endo so I hope your next round brings you your lucky egg xxx
Thank you for your reply well my RE did not stop my period before ( if u mean down reg to stop period) because i tried it before for 6 months and the endometrioma did not shrink nor did the ivf work .. but he did put me on primolut nor and the second period after retrieval we started estrogen . Bless you and your baby i honestly lost hope after 2 failures
How many do you have frozen. Like you I have low AMH due to the endo but the end it was quality over quantity with that last egg. Fingers crossed the frozen transfer works better and you get that BFP .Here if you need to chat. It definitely not an easy journey but please don’t lose hope you got this! Xx
I have 2 embryos frozen honestly this is the best i could get from every ivf .. 2 each time. Thank you so much for your kind words .. it’s hard and i am overwhelmed not to mention my endo flaring on estrogen also
Hello I have endo first time Ivf got 7 frozen embryos but my amh was high had my first frozen transfer and I’m nearly 30 weeks pregnant frozen transfers are a lot better for your body my tubes where blocked and had two ectopics so had them removed think positive hun x
Hi I have stage 4 endometriosis , I had a 10cm endometrioma removed before my first ivf cycle , but when I went for my scans to start the endometrioma had returned & was 5cm , they went ahead with that cycle as planned , first one failed due to embryo failing the thaw ( didn’t get to transfer )
But this year I had my 2nd cycle started down reg in January, my cyst was still there , the ivf drugs made it grow slightly to 6cm , they still went ahead , implanted embryo in February , I will be 11 weeks pregnant Monday , I had my 7 week scan all was fine , cyst still present but not causing any issues & didn’t affect implantation , so it can happen ! I wish you all the best with your next transfer Xx
If u dont mind me asking did u go on a specific anti inflammatory medications before or during transfer .. i have read a lot about aspirin and prednisone that suppress inflammation due to endo .. i am taking aspirin though but my re said prednisone is non sense but i really want to try everything i could this time
I wasn’t given any anti inflammatory medications at any point during treatment. It was never mentioned to me. So I wasn’t aware , There can’t be any harm in taking aspirin as your doing to see if that helps Xx
Hiya. I have stage 4 endo - I had two cysts drained (adding up to about 24cm in total) and had a round of egg freezing - so basically the first stage of IVF. The ovary which had been operated on didn't respond very well to stims because they didn't want to over stimulate the other ovary, but I got eggs from the other one! I was down regulated for six months before beginning IVF treatment to help calm down the endo. If you need any advice, I'm happy to share.
Thank you for your response . I started down regulating for my second one for 6 months and still failed and the side effects of decapeptyl were awful . Thank you for sharing your story💕
No problem. Would be worth discussing different protocols or maybe seeing if there is an IVF clinic attached to your endo clinic (if you haven't already)? They would have experience in dealing with endometriosis and be able to help guide towards the best outcome.
Hi. Thanks for sharing your story and I all my energy for this new round and I really hope this is your lucky egg. I have endo stage 4, have had a laparoscope and did 3 rounds of IVF unsuccessful, two with fresh transfers and no success with good quality embryos to freeze. Apart from my heavy endo flares and losing hope as I have low egg counts and very poor quality I am now finding hope in a new journey starting with reading a book which was recommended to me in this platform it all starts with the egg so I can get to the stage of having at least healthy embryos to freeze as I agree it works better for people with endo for the body to be ready before the transfer. Just wanted to give you hopes as you have a couple of frozen eggs and that's a very good step and I really hope this is your lucky round.
I am slowly recovering from my endo flares, reading the book and taking steps so I can get to that stage of producing healthy eggs as that's a first start.
Thank you so much for your kind words i hope things work for you also.. i started on prenatalVitamins, vitamin D , omega3 , and coq10 before my second transfer and still on them
For this one but i stop q10
Usually after retrieval , hope this helps you in a way sending u love and prayers ❤️
Thank you so much for your kind words. This platform is full of amazing people and we are all encouraging each other to continue with our individual battles. THANK YOU
Look into ethanol Sclerotherapy. It can remove the cyst without damaging the ovarian cortex. I have stage four endo. Had surgery last November and a 6cm endometrioma removed from my right ovary. I've done 4 rounds of making embryos. In the first 3, 1 blast. The cycle after surgery 3 blasts. (All abnormal but what can you do).
