Do you need a gap between Clomid and FET?

Hello everyone - I’ve been cheekily using up the leftover Clomid I have whilst waiting to be allowed a FET with steroids and for my Covid jab (just so I feel like I am doing *something*.

Has anyone been told by a clinic that they need to have a gap between taking Clomid and doing a FET? I know Clomid thins the womb lining but I don’t know for how long after you stop taking it? I’m just a bit concerned about having to wait for a washout period before the FET

as we’ll need to get going quickly. Many thanks x

Hi i dont know the answer but i also took letrozol and i started spotting 6 days before my period was due and it has just been continuing. Im worried i may not even get a normal period this month

I’m not sure, they wouldn’t allow me to do a fresh cycle when I had been taking clomid before it. I wouldn’t mess with it either. I think you’ll need to tell them.

Thanks Lozza, I did mention it and they said no gap between Clomid and FET needed, but I’m sure a previous doctor told me to have a gap. Anyway, as with all things IVF, there seems to be several (or no) answers!

Hi JuicyLu. I think you ought to be honest and let the clinic know that you have been taking the Clomid, just in case it should interact with anything they may prescribe you. Good luck! Diane
