I recently had a missed miscarriage with my first fresh transfer, and I opted for surgical management. Today in my consultation ahead of my first FET, the consultant recommended a saline sonogram /cavity check before I do my first frozen transfer, as anyone else recommended this, or does anyone have any experience of this procedure? Thanks

Saline sonogram after miscarriage
Hi there, I had this done last month as the sonographer thought she detected fluid in my uterus during an FET cycle and wanted to make sure I was safe for transfer. They kept asking me whether I had a miscarriage with surgical intervention and many questions of previous surgery. Apparently scar tissue can sometimes not heal properly and leak into the uterus, preventing implantation. Turns out mine wasn’t fluid, but excessive mucus which disappeared itself. The procedure itself isn’t bad at all. You feel like you’re about to have a transfer but they pump saline into your “cavity.. ?”.. I have to admit that bit wasn’t the most pleasant- needed lots of deep breathing as I can only describe it as the worst bloating ever. But it’s a short time and it’s all over quickly. Hopefully yours will be fine. I was reassured that there wasn’t anything found as I’ve had a few failed transfers and it gave me peace of mind. Good luck with it all xx
Wasnt recommended for me 🤷🏼♀️ although I went back a week after surgery for a scan and have had several periods since. Maybe it’s someone being safe ?! 😣
