After my waters breaking at 30 weeks 3 days, I was hoping the little ones would stay in a bit longer to get a bit bigger (but also then worried about infection getting in, so also worried about staying pregnant!). They said if all stays fine they would discharge me in 5 days and just hope all goes okay, with appointments twice a week for monitoring. I was all gearing up for going home!
However, only 3 days later the twins' heart rates were high (luckily I was still in hospital for monitoring) and my contractions started. They decided to do an emergency c section to get the twins out and so that they didn't have to endure going through labour. I am so happy they have arrived safely, and that they had a team of people ready to attend to their medical needs, but wish it wasn't so early. For their sakes! They are now in the Special Care Baby Unit and we are adapting to parenting in hospital.
Can't believe they are here. We are so blessed! Absolutely perfect little babies.

Wow huge congratulations this is lovely news and so pleased they are both doing well. Hope you’re doing ok & the twins continue to thrive. Look forward to hearing updates. Have they got names yet?xx
2lbs 13oz and 3lbs. The special care unit were happy with their weights - they thought they were going to be smaller. To me, though, they are the tiniest most delicate things!
Omg! Congratulations! How scary and amazing at the same time. Can't believe how quickly this time has gone. What did you have if you don't mind me asking and any names?? Xxx
Thank you. Had an infection and took me some time to recover myself, but nothing standing in the way of me and the twins. I would just get wheeled down to be with them! xxx
Massive congratulations to you!! Amazing news and so pleased they are here! Can't believe how quickly time has passed. Hope you are doing good and recovering quickly! 💖💖 xx
Oh wow. Well done mama!! Not the start you imagined I bet but so glad to hear everyone's safe. We started chatting when you were TTC and i was new here. Time has flown. Wishing you all well over the next few weeks ❤️💜💙
Oh wow that must have all been terrifying!Congratulations on their safe arrival though lovely. So pleased for you. Take care and hoping they keep getting stronger each day and that you get to take them home with you very soon xx
Wow Emmie, what a rollercoaster delivery you've had!! Glad to hear that all is well with them and I hope you are also recovering well. Wishing you all the best and hope you're on your feet soon and can get home.💖🙏🏻🤗🥰xxx

Massive congrats to you all hun x x lots of love to you all x x💕💕😊🥰😘
Aww Emmie. I cannot believe it went so fast ! I remember you sharing the good news like it was yesterday. Hope babies are doing better and better every day! Many many congratulations!! U did it 💐💐💐💐
Thanks. So fast. Pregnancy over. Just like that. Glad they are here safe. Just a harder start than I would have wanted for them. We did it, though; you're right! Our babies are here in the world. x
massive congratulations! So glad Arthur and Margot have arrived safely, even if earlier than expected. I wish you all the best of luck as they grow from strength to strength until you can take them home 💞
Congratulations and thank god they’re ok! My lil niece and nephew were born at 32 weeks and had to stay in the unit but they were soon strong enough to be transferred to step down care and then home. My sis in law says it was great opportunity to have the support of nurses with feeding , questions etc rather than handle two tiny ones alone right away. Best of luck xx
They were in for 6 weeks, until their due date at 38wks. Think although they were happy with their progress they had a policy of monitoring them in til the end. They sounded like newborn lambs at first with barely the energy to cry! but they quickly got strong. Are you sill in hospital with them or able to stay on site? There’s a brilliant service where we live that provides preterm parents and those with sick children with a room, free snacks and food and even a free haircut! That made a massive difference. Hope you have family nearby to meet you for lunch/ coffee even if they can’t go in and visit. X
I was discharged just over a week ago, but we have got in to a routine now where we go in for the whole day except for coming home for lunch. That sounds amazing the service where you are at the hospital. We don't have that here, but we're managing okay. And the support of the nurses is great. Just enjoying them getting bigger and stronger, and can't wait 'til they come home.
That’s great you are able to do that and nice to hear they’re being well looked after. They’ll thrive with good care and be home in no time you’ll see! Xx
I’ve been checking in to see if there was anymore news on your twins, huge congratulations for their safe arrivals. The NICU journey is like no other journey and can be a bumpy ride but I honestly wouldn’t have changed our experience for anything as the help and support we received was incredible. Don’t be fooled by their tiny and delicate appearance, although they maybe tiny, they are so so mighty! The resilience of these tiny humans astounds me everyday. Best wishes for this next chapter and once again, congratulations ❤️ Xxx
Congratulations ❤️❤️ Our son was born at 30 weeks, we were in hospital for 6 1/2 weeks until we could bring him home, it was hard going, but he has no long term health problems apart from a touch of asthma, you'd never know he was a premie, wishing you lots of happy times with your new babies xx
Thank you. Happy to know your son is doing well. 6 1/2 weeks sounds like a long time (although I know it's not that long). Difficult situation to deal with.
I had preeclampsia so he was a low birth weight, it sounds like a long time, but I was so happy he was in the right place with such amazing people to care for him, that really reassured me...hope you can get your precious babies home soon. xx
Amazing 🤩 Huge congratulations!! Hope you’re recovering ok and sending loads of positive vibes to the twins that they continue to thrive and you can have them home soon xx
Amazing news 🤩🤩🤩🤩 was thinking about you the other day ! Wow! Cannot believe they are here already! Miracle times two! Hope you’re doing ok and that the babies are getting the best care 💐💐💐💐💖💖💖💖💖💖🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
