Hey, I’m having my first frozen transfer in a few weeks. As I cannot bear the suspense of the 2 week wait, I am planning to test every morning post transfer which will help control my anxiety and stop me thinking what if constantly.
I wanted to check, as there is no trigger injection I am assuming there is no way of having a positive result unless I am pregnant but I wanted to check?
If anyone knows that would be great
Thanks

Hi strawberriesandcream, if you're having a natural cycle, then yes I would presume (but Im not a Doctor or Nurse!) that a positive result could only be as a result of that little embryo sticking on. Wishing you lots of luck. With FET I have also read that they can take a little longer to implant - so don't cause yourself unecessary worry if you don't get a + straight away xx
It’s not a natural cycle but I think it’s the only trigger shot that contains HCG so thought without that it wouldn’t show positive if not. But yea think will check!
I did wonder with that about the frozen vs fresh, that’s good advice thank you! ❤️
Yes you are right as you are not having a trigger shot with a fresh transfer you shouldn’t have hcg in your system unless you are pregnant. Don’t be disheartened if you get negatives up until OTD, I have seen this happen on here.
Thank you - that’s good to know! I’d rather deal with the negatives than deal with the suspense and not knowing ... I can’t tolerate it 🤣
Hey, I have no advice as all my rounds were fresh but I just wanted to say it's good to see you back and that you're starting a FET. Testing helped me as I found the anxiety too much.
Good luck with it, sending positive vibes that this is the one xxx
Thank you, still a nervous wreck until the 12 week scan next week but it's starting to feel more real.I didn't test early on the first 2 rounds and felt that the negatives at the end where overwhelming. Some people prefer not to, I think it just depends on the individual.
I can’t even begin to imagine how anxious and nervous you must be. I really hope all is ok, you’re a week away now and so close! Wishing you loads of luck xxx
I am exactly the same as you, I'd rather handle the negatives than wait for 2 whole weeks not knowing.... If you're having an FET there is nothing that would give you a false positive. Best of luck xxx
Just a side note, some people have Otrivelle injections to help stimulate the lining, and if you have that then its the same drug as the trigger so you would be getting positives then. But it's not commonplace so unlikely xx
The only way of having hCG in your system after a transfer is from trigger so if you are just doing an FET with meds there isnt anything in there that would give a false positive. Good luck.xx
There is no trigger so you are correct there wouldn’t be a positive unless you were in fact pregnant...
I recently did a FET that failed and to be honest testing early was a mistake I wouldn’t make again because seeing negatives and having to still wait for the bloods is worse than not knowing...
Thank you for the reply. I don’t get blood tests with my clinic because of covid so it is just a HPT which sucks to be honest. If I had an appointment to make for a blood test I would probably wait. I hate thinking I’m pregnant and being in that bubble of hoping when it’s proved pointless so far, I would rather just deal with the problem head on and move on. I’m clearly running out of hope and optimism that this will ever work!
