My first FET resulted in a mischarriage at 5 weeks. I am about to look into starting another round next month. The clinic has asked if I wanted to do re occurring mischarriage blood tests or pcg test the embryos. Both are at an additional cost. So wanted some advise as to whether I should be thinking of doing these yet?
Also I have 10 embryo in the freezer and have been contemplating asking for 2 embryo to be implanted. Are the risk dangerously higher. Apart from having two babies which to be honest I would be fine with.
Your advice and guidance would be much appreciated x

Hi SKP, you're in a great position with so many embryos. I am sorry about the miscarriage, that is tough. Did you know your progesterone levels for that transfer? I think knowing that you managed to get to implantation on the first FET shows that those dates maybe work for you. My clinic didn't want to carry out tests until I had reason to show that I'm repeatedly miscarrying. I continued with transfers after this that failed but my Dr didn't feel I needed those miscarriage tests. I am now in early stages of pregnancy, I looked at the dates that they transferred my previous successful (turned miscarriage), I noticed there was a days difference. So my next move would have been ERA testing, but as I had a natural FET and the dates fell within my original window where I first fell pregnant. So I think there is something to those dates. You already have that, if it puts your mind at rest and money isn't an issue think about tests (things like clotting disorder or NK cells). Also do you know your TSH levels and vit D. Those both also can cause miscarriage and is simple to correct so check it out. Wish all the best of luck xxx
I have no idea about that, I've never researched it. I was dabbling with the idea for this transfer but as I'm small, it's too risky in case they both did implant. Worth reading up on and asking clinic. As you have a lot of embryos it wouldn't be as risky for you to try. I always had an instinct my issues are to do with my state of mind and too many drugs, so wanted to eliminate those. I also was scared I'd waste embryos knowing the issue may not only be chromosomal if that makes sense?
I think the tests are worth it and it’s good your clinic has offered this to you (I had to Push for these tests after 3 failed cycles). They are expensive NK and recurring miscarriage blood tests but the results will help you move forward with the planning for the transfer. If the results suggest you need steroids to help - the HFEA have put a red alert on this due to Covid.
