My clinic said I have to wait 1 year and NHS recommend 2 years. I want to try for the next baby as soon as possible because there is no guarantee it will work on 1st try. I'm totally fine with have children similar ages. My brother and I are only 15 months apart. Some women get pregnant very quickly after c section. I'm sure I've read about someone who got pregnant 9 weeks after her c section. My stitches have healed nicely. No breast feeding. No real complications for me.

When can I get pregnant again after a c section.
Hi Rainbowhope. I'm afraid I'm going to have to say at least 6-9 months before trying for another baby. Large important muscles are cut to get to baby, so need a lot of healing. There's always a risk of the womb scar rupturing if not allowed to heal for a long time. Diane
My mum had me and my brother a year and 20 days apart and both were c sections. Obviously they said it's not best but it doesn't mean it doesn't happen and everything is ok!
I think most clinics recommend a year. I waited untill my lb was 14 months before we tried again. My clinic recommend a year. You could always book it in which means your ready to get started again in 6 months time? Time will soon fly with your little one to keep you busy in the meantime. 🥰 Xxx
We’re in the same situation - I’m eager to try again ASAP because it took us 4 years of treatment to get our boy. We were told to leave it 12 months before we tried again by the NHS obstetrician.
My clinic wouldn’t agree to a transfer until it had been 18 months. They wanted a doctors sign off to reduce it to 12 months
Oh and I’ve just had twins via c section almost 5 years after my last c section and had a placental abruption and major haemorrhage - both you are more susceptible to after any kind of abdominal surgery. So can’t rule out that my c section didn’t make me more vulnerable to it than if I had never had one
Hi,I remember us going through IVF at the same time, I too want to try again ASAP but my clinic won’t do a transfer until 1 year after the c section which seems so long away.
I was told there Is a risk of uterine rupture as the scar inside needs to heal properly.
Hi, I'd recommend waiting so you have more time to heal. We tried 3 years for a baby, had ivf and luckily it worked 1st try despite not having got pregnant before that time. My daughter was born via emergency section but perfectly healthy. Then not long after she turned 9 months old I discovered I was pregnant naturally but because the pregnancies were close I was booked in for an elective section. My youngest is now 5 months old and so far I haven't had any damage round that area but I've been very cautious in my activities as I know of people having terrible tearing and damage from c sections close together. I've just been incredibly lucky. There's just less than 18 months between my 2 girls and I wouldn't change that for anything but I always feel anxious about putting too much strain on my stomach when I exercise.
