Can you get pregnant on Burserillin?

Just wanted to put this out there to see if anyone has or knows if you can get pregnant whilst on the down regulator drugs burserillin? I'm about to start these injections for my first cycle of IVF but have been trying naturally this cycle, having sex on every other "high" days and both peaks days. Just wondered if there's a chance (slim I know) that we could still fall pregnant naturally this month? X

I stopped down regulating 27th sept and have been wondering the same. Apparently it is possible if you believe Google x

Hi MrsTM13 , if you stopped on 27th Sep doesn't that mean you've had your treatment already? X

I started at beginning of sept and had to abandon cycle. I was meant to start stimming on 28th.

Hi HopefulAnna. It is possible at the beginning of its use. However, as you proceed through the process, it will eventually be impossible, as the drug is designed to stop you ovulating temporarily, and shrink the lining of the womb, making it difficult or a developing embryo to implant. Hope all goes well with the cycle. Diane

Thanks Diane, I was told that you could get pregnant whilst on Burserillin, during the cycle before the stims start, hence why I didn't opt for the endometrial scratch (as I wanted that last natural chance!)

I ovulated on Friday/Saturday (today is Wednesday) so I am due to start Burserillin this Friday (7 days later at implantation stage) Would I still have a chance for a fertilised egg to implant from then?

Sorry to question this but I am desperate for us to have a natural chance before we go into the full IVF cycle later this month when period due.... due approx 11/12 Nov. 😢

Hi HopefulAnna. Unfortunately as you continue with the Buserelin, your womb lining with get thinner, making it harder for a developing embryo to implant, should you create one naturally. You may be lucky, I wish I could say, but looks like you will be proceeding with IVF, so I wish you HUGE luck with the cycle. Diane

Right I see, I wish they had told me this. I called the hospital and they said there is a chance but clearly it's not going to happen. I haven't been told any of this and have been trying naturally this month, tracking cycle and hoping for a slither of luck. I feel absolutely gutted as will now be doing something which will inevitably make it impossible. 😢😢😢

Hi HopefulAnna. Oh my poor girl! Try not to be so down. I do realise how important it is for you to try naturally - I would still try - you may just hit the window before starting Buserelin, I don't know, but it does look like you are going to start a round of IVF, so try and look positively about it, because it's giving you a super chance. If all goes well, you may even have a few embryos to store frozen for future use. Sending you a BIG HUG and I will be thinking of you. Diane
