Can I visit the farm when pregnant?

Hi hope everyone is ok. Just wondering is it ok to go farm when pregnant? I would ask my midwife but it's late and going tomorrow afternoon. I can't believe I'm thinking this now! Should of asked her earlier... Anyone been to the farm when pregnant?

You can but make sure you adhere to strict hand hygiene and there are certain animals you shouldn't touch at all (you'll have to google tho) probs best not to touch any lol x

I think you have to stay away from goats, I’m not really sure why. Xx

Congratulations on your pregnancy lovely. It’s fine to visit but I would be cautious about touching any animals. I have a lot of animals at home and when I was pregnant with my little boy I did continue to feed and have regular contact with them but I made sure I washed my hands regularly and didn’t do any cleaning out (that job was left to my partner). We had a trip to a farm last year with my little ones (IVF miracle) school. The teachers did advise pregnant mums to not join the trip. Anyway, a few of us came back sick, one boy had e.coli. Personally, I wouldn't go. But id say it depends on the type of farm. We were probably unlucky but the safety procedures at the start of the day were worrisome (like having to leave shoes outside when home and washing all clothes at hot temps!).

Thought id better share...

You can catch listeria from animals during lambing season but now is summer so I don’t think is the case. There is more info about this subject on NHS web site, have a look there...
