Had my initial consultation with my NHS hospital yesterday (but paying privately) to start things up again and was due to have my scan and start medication for a new cycle. Unfortunately during the appointment we were told that all treatment was to be put on hold due to covid19 and the hospital being in a critical state. Absolutely gutted but completely understand with what's going on. More waiting, it's now been a year since my chemical and last FET ๐ not getting any younger.
During the appointment I asked the consultant about the covid19 vaccine as I'm a key worker and my work keep offering it to me. My consultant informed me it would be best to hold off at the moment as they are unsure and that you shouldn't have the vaccine if you are planning to have IVF within the next 3 months. Can my work make me have it though? Do I have to have the vaccine as I work in healthcare? Obviously I dont want to tell my job the reason why. But they keep asking and I keep saying no but with no good excuse. Feel incredibly anxious today ๐คฎ๐ฃ

I wouldn't have thought they can make you have it at all. I'm sorry to hear this has been cancelled for you and I hope that things are up and running again soon xxx
Hi littlpeax if you feel comfortable to say this, I would just say your undergoing medical treatment which doesn't allow you to have the vaccine or just tell them you don't wish to discuss the reason why and thank them for their concern x ๐
I'm so sorry to hear that Littlepea, it's so frustrating isn't it. Hopefully once the vaccination programme is in full swing it'll take the pressure off the NHS so you'll be able to start up again. I'm sure you will, but I'd use this time to really get your body in a good place Get the raspberry leaf tea, beetroot juice and super green powders in you!I don't think you can be forced to have any vaccination, so if you need to hold off then perhaps you can explain to your boss? xxx
Hi Littlepeax, so sorry to read this I'm gutted for you! I know how much you were looking forward to and ready for this cycle so to have it cancelled must be so hard for you. I don't have any advice about your work and covid vaccine but just wanted to send you a virtual hug. Hold on, things are going to change so much for you soon! Xxx
Thanks so much Keepingfaith โฅ๏ธ so lovely to hear from you. Hope you and your gorgeous boy are doing good and had a lovely first Christmas with him ๐ฅฐ xxx
We are good thank you ๐ had a bit of scare as gp thought he had a hernia which would mean a small operation but luckily when we took him into the hospital a few days back they couldn't find anything. I hope you are feeling a bit less anxious. I get you not wanting to tell work, it's totally up to you what you want to share. Did hospital give you any indication of what the wait time would be? Feeling anxious is the last thing you want for your cycle so at least by the time you start we will be out of lockdown and everything should look brighter hopefully xx
Ahh that sounds so worrying glad he was ok though, bless himโญโฅ๏ธ thanks hun feeling so much better today ๐ my consultant said call them at the end of February to see where they are. Just have to try and stay positive and healthy. Suppose it gives me more of a chance after Xmas lol xxx
Yeah I know it must feel like forever now but the time will pass and the stars will align where you both feel healthy & more positive and the vaccination programme is well underway meaning a much less scary time being in and out of hospitals ๐ซ๐
Sorry to hear this ๐ this happened to me on the first lockdown but after lockdown when our embryo was put back in and we got our positive. Keep positive and keep relaxed. I believe the fact I had time to relax helped ๐ time will soon pass ๐ xxx
This just happened to me exactly this month. I was about to start my medication and scans for this cycle and they told me to hold on it. Hugs to you, hopefully this waiting game will be over soon and soon the hospital will call us back xx
